Hahaha. Gotcha guys. Yeah, that really is a Skyline. 1970s vintage? I have no idea. I just got back from a trip to Australia yesterday. It is a beautiful place. I grew up in Hawaii, so I feel qualified in saying Australia is paradise, at least this time of year. I hear it's really hot there in the summer, so fall and springtime are the best times to go. We went to Cairns, Canberra and Sydney. Cairns was really nice, with a laid back atmosphere, and the people there are sooo friendly. Sydney was great too...the largest city in Australia (and the world) but with only 4.2 million people. The densest areas still have a lot of greenery and parks scattered about, and the architecture around the harbor makes for an attractive cityscape. The country is almost the same size as the US, but has less than 10% the population. Over 90% of the people live on the eastern side, some on the western side, and very few in between.

I probably saw 10 other Skylines while there. Maybe 8 R32s and 2 R33s. Not a single one was a GTR though, as far as I could tell. I saw a couple Silvias too, though they might have been the same one. Here's a Skyline that was parked outside my hotel one night in Sydney.

If anyone has ever considered going, I highly recommend it, at least during the right season. Chally and AGM, you guys are very fortunate to live is such a great place. I will want to go back again, which is something I can only say about a few places I've traveled to.

What are the big brands in Australia? Holden (GTO imported to the US), Mitsubishi (Diamante imported to the US), what else? Hyundai and Mazda?

Yeah, actually I was surprised by the number of Korean cars there. Hyundai, Kia and Daihatsu were everywhere. But one of the ads I read in the paper stated that all the Kias for sale were actually made in Japan. Ford is pretty big there. I was surprised I didn't see a single GM car, until I learned that GM owned Holden or something like that. Holden's are popular. There seems to be a larger percentage of older cars there than in the US. I would say at least a third of the cars I saw were made before 1990, at least in Cairns, maybe not in Sydney. I wonder how much of a stir a Corvette would make there.Another thing that stood out was how many cars had tow hitches. It didn't seem to matter what kind of engine the car had, in fact, there were more tow hitches on smaller cars than on larger cars, I guess because they need the room. I also saw quite a few SUVs with snorkels in Cairns, which floods periodically. The Nissan Patrol is a pretty cool looking vehicle. Aussie's Armada I guess, though it's been out quite a while longer I think.I didn't see a single Infiniti there.

Ford ****in' rocks over there.

see any Falcons school some fools over there?

the freakin' XR8 is a beast of a 4 door, I think it'd destroy a Q (sorry Q owners, closest thing to compare, well, there's the M but I'm not too familiar with it, but good god that falcon is mean...)
