Well i finally got all the parts for my front 300zx brake upgrade and rear stock brake upgrade (steel lines and brembo rotors). I have one more question, do i need to order a hardware kit for the front 300zx calipers? By hardware kit i mean 4 pad pines (2 for each caliper), 2 pad pin clips (1 for each caliper), and 2 spring clips (1 for each caliper)? Btw i am using axxis ultimate brake pads so they already have the shims attached....i dont know if that matters but thought i would throw it out there.

thanx guys

If everything is in working order, then you don't need it. If the stuff is broke/missing then you need it. Or is you want to feel fancy and go ahead and replace it.

well if the calipers dont already have the hardware then yes you will?? What size calipers did you get the 26 or the 30mm?? If you got the 30mm your stock rims might not fit, mine didn't

hell, the 26mm might not fit depending on which version of the 7-spoke alloys you have.

If your calipers are missing those hardware (they hold your brake pads to the calipers) then you will need them. If you got those calipers used or from a junk yard I would also rebuild them as well.

I would get it no matter what. My brother didn't and his stuff wasn't it good shape. The pin clip (long wierd metal looking thing) snapped after awhile. Plus new stuff will likely keep the caliper from chattering excessively. http://ttzd.com/

Good site about the brakes and installing pads and stuff. I always get the shim mixed up and what not. And you can use the old brake pad to push the piston back in, you don't need a C-clamp.

I bought the hardware and shim kit when I did my Z brakes.

If you order them from a Nissan dealer make sure you get the right quantities the first time you order. The dealer I went through couldn't seem to comprahend me needing a full set of hardware. They also got confused when I didn't know the exact year model for the twin turbo Z I wasn't ordering for. They were very sheltered.

If you go through Courtesy Nissan you shouldn't have a problem... at least from what I've heard. I'll be dealing with them the next time I need a factory or Nismo part.

Courtesy, in the past, had a very hard time getting orders right. I still use them tho. They've only messed up a few of my orders, but they gladly fixed each one at their cost.

Rebuilt calipers don't generally come with hardware. I don't ever buy from autozone, but NAPA does not include them and I can't imagine that anyone else would.

Personally I made my own caliper pins from drill rod. I think I spent a whopping $2.00 to do it.

30MM calipers do not come in alloy , only Iron. Also if you own a S13 with stock rims you wont clear the 30 MM iron calipers. S14 16' rims will clear 30MM

Yes, the 30mm calipers did come in aluminum for the first 2 year models of the Z32, if I'm not mistaken...

If you don't what you are saying, preface it with I'm not sure or something.

I have a set of 30mm ALUM calipers. So do alot of other people.

if you mean 2 pad pins yes that would be correct.

Also dont forget SS lines and good brake fluid too and make sure you use flare wrench for the brake line otherwise you will strip them and say alot of F words

you don't need the numbers. Just tell them you need a brake hardware kit for 94 300z (if you have the 30mm) or 90 300z (if you have the 26mm)

PER CALIPER

Yes it's 2 pad pins, 1 pin spring, and 1 cross spring. The rest of that stuff is in the shim kit.
