Well...not really my kingdom as I can't account for much to my name.... :D

However, I am looking for a "good" 92-93 Q45 transmission as mine seems to be on the ER table.

See this thread for the symptoms:http://nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=64339

Anbody got anything with "lower" miles that they want to part with for cheap, as I am currently in between jobs (Michigan sucks).

Thanks,

Andy[email protected]

NFS - I have access to one, with low miles and in great shape, but it'd be like $800. :(

Wish i could help.

DGoodno has a fresh one doesn't he?

Yes, it's the 90-93 and not the 94-95, blah blah blah, or vice versa, but it'll work.

There is a Q45 transmission on ebay right now. Last time I saw the ad, the asking price was $499 with Buy It Now.

If you can get it, that's a rippin' deal.

A Q trans in good shape and with low miles is well worth over a grand.

Well, " IN GOOD SHAPE" and "WITH LOW MILES" are the keys, no?

What are you bidding on with ebay?

I would bet money that they will tell you "30 to 40k miles" no matter what the mileage- plus, 'it was working when removed'... maybe even a guarantee that you can return it- but you're out $400 for shipping both ways. Quite a crap shoot IMHO

Yeah, I saw the ebay transmission.......too many unknowns there. Plus it says it's a JDM.....are they any different than US? Then you have to ask yourself.....why was it pulled?.....was it in a wreck?.....what kind of service did it get?....blah, blah, blah.......

I feel much better about getting one from a NICO member....at least here you can be somewhat assured that it the transmission was (hopefully) serviced right.

I've got a question:

My current transmission won't shift past 2nd....any thoughts there. Anything electronic that you guys can think of that I can check. The self diagnostic comes back "OK"......However when all this started (shifting problems while in D) I did get a code "3" which is the throttle position sensor circut. I cleaned the plug at the TB and the error went away. Do you think I may have further problems with the throttle position sensor itself......

Just grasping at straws...

I just looked up the auction.

HA HA....35 to 40k miles! what did I say?

I also note their 'warranty':

We stand behind all the products we sell, offering a 60 day parts warranty on all our engine blocks

This is for an engine- no engine block in a transmission. Try and get something in writing- then try dealing with aCanadian company.

Any besides, why would they offer a warranty on the BLOCK for any engine they sell??? Blocks never fail (rods, pistons, bearings, valve fail)

To quote them: "Bid with confidence knowing that you are dealing with a corporation not an individual:"

SureCaveat Emptor

PS The most stunning thing in this auction is they never, ever state whether or not the transmission works!

The Japanese Q45s probably don't have much miles on them when they are parted out. This is mostly because of the stringent inspections for older cars.

If there are low miles JDM engines out there, why wouldn't there be low miles JDM trannys?

As far as condition, that is a chance we take with any used part on Ebay. If the seller has excellent feedback, they will usually stand behind their items.
