is this the DE or E motor? If it's the E then it might be the hydrolic lifters. They tend to get some air bubbles stuck in there making them stick. If it's the DE, did you install the upper timing chain guide? Make sure to check around the engine for any loose parts vibrating, does the noise happen under load or can you do it with no load on the engine?

Changing the oil wouldn't do anything for the lifters. To bleed them properly you need to warm up the motor, then run it without a load (ie sitting still) at 2000 RPM for 20 minutes. This should bleed them properly and you won't have any more problems (for a while anyways), if they're still making noise after that you need to take the valve cover off and feel for loose rocker arms and replace any that are loose.

YAH I DID post on ka-t well car did idle for 30 mins after i changed oil so they are bleeded and i do have oil on proper level , i ended up listening to engine more carefully and all i can figure is: noise comes in around 2500rpm and goes away around 4000rpm; if i keep engine at 2500rpm steady tapping gets more louder and more persistent , past 4000 rpm its just not there , also if i rev up to lets say 5000 rpm and let go when rpm drops past 4000-2500 range there is no noise so wtf?

chain / rod bearings noises come around 2000rpm and goes all the way to redline as well they get louder as rpm increases they bolth are on same rotation , but cam only makes 1 spin for every 2 crank makes ,am i right?

so far car is stored and i am playing around with it everyday for few minutes after work. being bored i even held revs around 6000rpm to see if that noise comes in that area or anything blows and no its all good,i checked my lifters and there is no play at all :I am now thinking some lifter is internally ,pertially blocked, or oil paasage to the lifter is pluged up or lifter itself went bonkers. my only other theorry is my valvetrain is overtorqued at that specific lifter and doesn't have anyplay at those low rpm cousing that noise .or i have more than 1 problem cousing the noise.

anyone else????

so far i think i am not going to take any risk, since car is stored i might sell off all my turbo goodies and save few $$$ over winter , than just unleash it in the spring with fully build engine cuz i am getting sick and tired of fixing 1 thing and next week something else goes
