ok tax time here! been searching and asking questions on this forum about a sohc turbo setup and got an idea of what i want

t3 turbojgs manifoldjrc front mounttial 38mm wastegate(dont know which bov yet, thats later)walbro 255370cc injectors (i can get these cheap from friend)8:1 fmu (for now, will upgrade to safc2 later)(oil lines ill get soon enough, and not sure about front mount kit yet..)2 1/2" hot and cold pipes (probibly going to be custom if i cant find kits)2 1/2" down pipe (again probibly custom unless i can find one)hi flo cat (ill get later so not picky about brand yet)2 1/2" piping to turbo muffler (still ill get later, and probibly custom anyways)

and i will be getting boost gauge, and oil pressure gauge in a dual pod

before anyone says anything i plan on buying these parts THROUGHOUT the year, not at once and im hoping to have it all if not installed by next spring. so thats why i dont have everyting planned yet.

in any case ill be getting my taxes back here in a couple of weeks and my first buy will be a jgs manifold. ill post as i go.

Looking good so far. Are you planning on running the stock fuel pump w/ the FMU? Look at ignition upgrades as well since you can do them now and minor upgrades are fairly cheap (new plugs/ wires/ MSD Blaster 2 coil).

Might want to check out an oil cooler as well for longevity. FYI you can use 450cc injectors from turbo 1st and 2nd gen 5-speed DSM (Auto's are smaller). you'll need a resistor pack if you go that route.

http://www.cheapturbo.com will be your friend for flanges/misc parts as the need arises.

Best of luck to you though. Sounds like you're definitely on the right track.

- also when you go turbo, you will want to run a colder range plug. I'd reccomend NGK BKR6E-11's.

dont need to use 370cc's with a FMU. a FMU can be used with stock injectors and is good for 8psi no problem

well... I ran ~8psig on stock injectors w/ Walbro 255lph fuel pump for a few months... that doesnt make it a good idea though.

import_ant no i plan on running a walbro 255 lph fuel pump. i plan on getting the turbo and exhaust complete before i do other stuff like ignition, but i completly agree with you. and thank you for the info on colder plugs, i honestly didnt know that. and thanks for the link, i have a feeling ill be putting it to use.

craving4boost i have been told i dont need bigger injectors, and i dont plan on going above 8-10psi BUT 1) id rather be safer then sorry (which is why i plan on upgrading to a safc2 eventually) and 2) just because i dotn plan on going above 8-10 doenst mean that i wont...i am human after all hehe

just remember this is an ongoing project for me, and my first one to be honest so itll be slow, confusing and one thing at a time. but bear with me with this forums help i have complete faith behind me and the project. thank you.

ok so now that i got a good idea of waht im doing, how im oing it, and how im going to afford and get it all i gotta scrap my turbo project...

found out today my girl is pregnent, which is cool and obviously im not gonna be dishing out money all year long for a turbo....yet

so instead of turbo im gonna be doing mods to my car that cost less, like s/t frt and rear sway bars and maybe a header, hi flo cat and custom exhaust and keep money in tha bank.

so now its back to the drawing board on cheap mods...again. lol

thx for all the help tho.

Isn't a 38mm WG a little big for a T3? I would think about internal (bored out) if the boost is relatively low, or a 35mm. I just don't think you will be passing enough gas to require that, and spool will be affected.
