so i got this car from a guy and it wasnt put to gather fully so i bought it for 800 cuz it was a clean car no rust and no dents. but i findly got it to gather and started it up and it started to pop throw the intake. so i thought that was a easy fix and missed with the distrubtor. and that didnt help at all. so i dont know if it jumped a tooth or two. so how do i cheek the timing and how can i fix it if out taking the timing cover off.

i need some help

im sorry, i am having a hard time understanding what you are trying to say here.

sounds like you bought a project that isnt running correctly, you have detonation and you think its a result of your timing being off, but you want to be able to replace the chain without taking off the timing cover?

either take it to someone knowledgeable or swap in a new motor, i dont know that you will be able to solve the problem based on internet guidance.

what are you asking? is English your first language because I am sure there are people here better equipped to read your problem and correctly diagnose it in whatever language is your first.

you didnt even respond to my post in a manner that would allow anyone to better help you here...

maybe i can help a little, i believe what you are haveing is " intake backfire" i took an engine performance class a while back and i remember the teacher saying that it can be caused by " valve overlap" it could be a timing issue, or perhaps cam alignment. when you said the car was not all the way put togehter, did you yourself install the cams, timing chain componetns? maybe you should recheck them if that is the case. i know there is a writeup on here somewhere with basically everything you need to know from JIMWOLF TECHNOLOGY. to change your timing chain yes you have to take off the 2 parts of the front cover and valve cover, but its not hard, there is also the fsm floating around here somewhare, that would help a lot. is your timing correct? do you have access to a timing light? its pretty simple to check depending on your car, i have a 95/ka24de and basically unplug the TPS after you warm up the engine, hook up the light and makesure its , if i remember correctly 20BTDC +/- 2. well best of luck and i hope this helped in some way.
