ok one night I was test driving my car (because I just bypassed the heater core because it was clogged) and suddenly my car overheated and I pulled over and poped the hood. the 2nd spark plug wire was on fire. I put it out and there was no serious damage that I can see. I replaced the wires and put the heat shield on (it was off when I was driving). when I turned the key it turned but it didn't react even with a sputter. the belts turn and the fuel pump is pumping, but it still doesn't work. what else can it be?

Recheck your plug wires. You may not have them on correctly. You will have to pull #1 plug out to get #1 on compression stroke. then pull dist. cap and check rotor alignment. Rotor will now be pointing at #1. I'll bet you have them one terminal off.
