Hey guys, i have been on this site for quite a while just reading the forums and gaining some knowlege, anyways i am going to go ka-t but i need some advice as to how to reach my goal of 240 - 280whp. So far i have a Garett T3/TO4E hybrid Turbo, IAP Equal Length Manifold, IAP Downpipe, and a Walbro Fuel pump. The Stuff bolded is the stuf that I have right now. I pretty much still need my external wastegate, Bov, FMIC and IC piping, 370cc injectors, and an SAFC II. Btw my car is a red 1992 Nissan 240sx SE Hatchback.

Engine:T3/T04E Hybrid Garrett Turbo IAP custom equal length manifold and Downpipe $1200 altogetherTial 38mm Wastegate Nismo Motor mountsGReddy Type-S BOV or HKS SSQV Blowoff Valve (Super Sequential Blowoff Valve).Oil feed/drain kit for turbo $100

Cooling:Megan Racing Intercooler (Size: 22"x11.75"x3")Custom intercooler piping

Engine Management:Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump $80Apexi SAFC550cc SARD or 550cc deatschwerks

Exhaust:3 Inch Dual N1 Style Cat-back Exhaust $265 Magnaflow High Flow Cat $68

here are some pics of what i have so far

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Question: Should i get an SAFC II + Z32 MAF and then get it tuned at the dyno?

Or should I get an Enthalpy ECU?

Looks good, and for what it is worth, I am going 480cc with maxima N60 MAF and enthalapy. It is a less expensive combination, if only by a little.

ill b upfront and tell u what i shouldve done had the options been out there for me. if ur gonna get injectors and ur definitely gonna get an ecu tune, go with some 700cc injectors and the enthalpy tune (this will be my future upgrade). and yes get the z32 maf as i see no point in having an ecu tune if u dont have an upgraded maf. y u say i suggest all this. well u have the turbo to get u the air for the reaction but u need fuel. the main three things that will stop u from making more power is fuel setup, MAF, and of course timing. at a certain level of boost, u wont be able to just retard base timing to compensate for it.

Why do i suggest 700cc injectors, well the price difference between 550cc injectors and the 700cc ones are just nil. its like a tank of gas i think. plus u know u will NEVER have to upgrade ur injectors should the boost bug bite you as 700cc injectors maxed out put u within some kind of power range that is no where near where ur goal is.

i do suggest the safc and i highly suggest a wideband as they will help u to have a very safe, and reliable setup.

So in summary, get:550cc injectors or largerSAFC Z32 MAFWidebandEnthalpy Ecu

If ur pockets don't agree:550cc injectorsZ32 MAFSAFCWideband

You could save a couple of bucks by getting the JGS tools motor mounts. IT looks pretty good other wise. If you go the SAFC route you will need somethign to control timming also (BTM) or scrap the SAFC and get e-manage Blue or Black. The black one is a little more powerful and more expensive but I like my blue EM.

I have never seen those MMs, has you used them. They don't look half bad, and if they compare nicely to Nismo, perhaps w/o the clearance probs, then I am on them. If you have used them, let me know more.

Hey thank you so much for the advice! I was thinking of maybe just getting a Z32 MAF and then SAFC, and i'll bring my car to a dyno to get it tuned as they will use a wideband to tune it. I honestly have no idea how to use a wideband at all to tune my car .... Oh btw, i know this might sound like a really stupid question but would going with injectors that are too big hurt my performance or gas mileage by any chance? I think 550cc should be enoughm but if the 700cc are around the same price and will not hurt me. Then I might as well go with 700cc injectors. Btw i want this car to be very reliable and safe that's why i am gonna go to the dyno and get it all tuned before I start beating on this motor. I want everything to be done right the first time. Also, would you guys recommend that I get an oil cooler since my turbo is oil cooled and not water cooled as well? Thanks!

oil cooler will benefit any turbo'd car.................remember that the safc can only correct for 550cc injectors and no larger than that. i would say that u should b able to tune ur car with an safc and wideband cuz ur really just adjusting fuel based on ur a/f's. so if u have a lean condition, add more fuel or turn down the boost. if u have a rich condition, take away some fuel or add some boost. of course timing comes into play when making such changes but thats for when u have all ur stuff on ur car.

Ah that's right. I totally forgot about that! I guess 550cc injectors will do then. Well, I actually plan on boosting at maybe 5 to 8 psi. The max psi that I plan on going would probably be 10. I don't need that much power. Although more power would be fun. Thanks once again though.

Hey, by the way, would you guys recommend that I get a metal head gasket or should I just use the stock one?
