I don't really know whats wrong, I think it blew, won't start. Also when I force it to start, with a wire from the battery to the starter, it starts shaking and knocking like crazy. So I was just wondering. Should i rebuild my ka24de, buy a used one, or get a sr20 swap? my budget is around 1200. Anybody know any good cheap complete sr20s?

"you get what you pay for" someone once told me. you could find a ka for like $200. I bet money on that.

Mass air flow sensor can do that to you, make sure the wire is seated properly...

if you really want to be a street fighter drop the KA find a small block V8. I put a dodge 318 in my '91 240sx. with the Magnum heads the motor is lighter than the KA and alot faster. Minor alterations:have shorted drive shaft made, modify transmission mount, customize driverside header, remove old motor mounts and weld angle steel to your unibody to run bolts through and your all set

personally i say buy another KA (assuming urs is s13) from an S14... convert proper parts for it and drop that in... total cost will probably come out to 6 bills... maybe even less since urs is already dual cam u dont need to buy parts like i did for my Single cam

just my .02 since i know how it feels to be low on funds and needing ur car

12 could get u a decnt motor/trany ecu harness... but then again u need to get the swap done aswell

unless u knoe someone who is skilled in swaps and knows wut hes doing then id say go Sr... or even CA since CA's usually go cheaper ( friend picked one up for 8 bills with transmission ecu and harness, but he did the swap himself)

u cant go wrong with wut already is in ur car...

or u could just get ur KA rebuilt which would probably cost u less then all the other optiions on ur plate

Well if you are experienced enough, i would say rebuild ur KA. I rebuilt my Ka, everyting new, had the block bored, new pistons, rings, bearings, carnk polished, valve job done on head. I have about 25K miles on motor now and have not had any problems at all. Total with machining labor and parts was 950 bucks, including new clutch.
