sucker race for the Gallardo though, sure it makes 512 hp but it only makes 376 lb of torque and torque is what wins races especially from a 30mph roll. The Jag on the other hand makes 510 hp but 461 lb of torque and the torque is peak at 2500 rpm.

0-60 the first gen Gallardos did it in 4.1 the Jag is traction limited to 4.3 full throttle in 1st is useless until going above 20mph

And you have a usable trunk, too.

The Gallardo is probably my least favorite supercar ever. Happy to see one shown what-for by a car I'm pretty fond of.

I like the Gallardo, then again, I like the Boxster and I like the Camaro and even though I could have, I have always passed over GT-Rs and bought GTS-Ts.

I like them all but it's nice to see a Lambo get humbled.

[I'm a Ferrari man.]

I'm not sure the Lamborghini holds a pedestal to rate humbling. I don't even like Ferraris and I would say that marque has been and continues to be the pinnacle, at least in people's minds. Lamborghini was created in and has always carried forth that obstinate F-U spirit that by its very paradigm confirms Ferrari is the king to be unseated.

My Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on my XF are the exact same size as the 458's and were originally released as Ferrari specific Pilot Sports.

I jokingly tell people my Jag is really a 4 door Ferrari F430 because its about as fast up to 205 mph then its faster.

3rd gear gets you to 105 mph

4th gear gets you to 135 mph

5th gear gets you to almost 170 mph
6th gear goes off the speedo

I'm a lambo fan, just because they're "mental" [/Jeremy Clarkson quote]. That lambo exhaust note is hard to beat. Any in-cabin vids of the Jag running through the gears?

Speaking of mental, how about a speedo pic at 180mph. Hope that was a hands-free camera.

I have a suction cup mount thing for my side window that I use for in car pics video. The off the speedo picture is a buddies I have only had my car past 160 once and it was enough I didn't use up all of 6th gear. 6th is a .67 overdrive and its a long gear the car needs downforce to reach top speed. Jaguars racing team lowered one and added a spoiler it went 225 at Bonneville Salt Flats.

Here is 70ish to 140 ish I'm racing a ML55 AMG on the way to SEMA uphill

Image

Here is the drag strip, I can't use full throttle in 1st gear even with the Pilot Super Sports so 12.8 @113 was all I could manage. The car has a 12.5 in it with traction. One of my Jaguar buddies is running 11.9's at 120mph with a smaller pulley and a tune on street tires. The pulley and tune are $2000.

Image

I raced a very hot Mustang (11.16 was what it ran) and tried a full throttle start, wheel hop is an issue. The stang sounds fantastic though right!

Image

In traffic you can leave a light in first gear and at anything under 20 mph floor it and created wheel spin into 2nd gear, its fun but I wish I could get traction. My rears are 285/30/20 PSS I have heard from other owners the car freaks out if you mess with tire size.

Sounds good, but it needs more supercharger whine, LOL!

I know right they have it tuned to be very silent. It has the exact same Eaton R1900 the ZR-1 Vette rocks and is silent. You should see all the plastic to make it so silent.

One of the guys on the Jag club designed his own system he was going to be selling that replaced all the pipe and didn't throw codes running a different filter but then Sandy wiped out his shop.

Anything you do to this car either throws codes or doesn't make a difference. My buddy with the tune and pulley runs a 11.9 vs my 12.8 and on they dyno he only makes 480 RWHP vs my 448 RWHP. The ECU fights you on power the entire time because the ZF 6spd is rated by ZF for less torque then the motor makes stock

Dayum! That's some badass resonance tuning to quiet that thing down.

That sucks about the lack of ability to modify, but with a car like that, how much modding does it really need?

Any trans upgrade options?

Thats kindof where I'm at... I did my research before buying and engaged the two companies selling a modified XKR-S tune and pulley. One says 50hp gain for $1400 the other 100+ hp gain for $1900. I bought the car in Denver and took it off the speedometer on the way home. I am constantly telling myself to slow down, getting on a freeway on ramp going about 40mph if the car is already set up for quickness you can get up to around 130mph before you are on the freeway (113mph in a 1/4 mile from stop). So the car is probably plenty quick in 99% of the situations on the street. If I don't want to be passed so far I have not been passed.

Then there is the whole, every month it is in the shop thing. So far just little things but I NEED the warranty.

The only thing I am considering is a muffler set with a electric bypass they are made by Varex, here is a guy from my Jag club that has em. Still no supercharger whine.
