whenever i accellerate my 97 j30 my gas pedal shakes and it idles really high in the morning then calms down...motor mount?

I've never heard of a severly shaking gas pedal. How high are the RPM on a cold start? Mine is typically @1200.

yes that is typically where my cold start idle is at about 1200 rpm. i guess what i meant was when im barely touching the gas pedal, (like when im on the freeway and slowing down i feel the car shaking but feel it mostly in the gas pedal for some reason) does yer j30 shift really wierd before warming up...too? hard or late at times?

My J is completely stock. Yes, the White Sox are one of the most complete teams I have seen in a long time in any sport.

The thing about the J30 is that it is hard to increase its performance because it was pretty much maxed out OEM. The most cost effective mod I have heard about is the change out the rear end. This keeps the VG30DE running up in its power band. Member Diamond performed this mod (along with some others) and swears by it.

You vibration problem could be any number of things. Could be tranny related or even injector problems.

The J tranny typically has a firm feeling shift from first to second before it's fully up to operating temperature.

Could be your accel cable is tighten too tight...... Many possible things... I think we can get to the bottom of this..... have you inspected anything in the engine bay?
