I'm new to this board.

I just bought a 99 g20 that's in pretty good shape.

Having a little bit of trouble with it, but i still love having it.

I'm going to be fixing it up little by little, but i want to take care of whats wrong with it now.

From what i know i need a valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket.

The car seems to shift weird (automatic), i read about it and from what i found out the trans shifts hard? Seems like it does, but sometimes the problem is it just doesnt want to go... until it gets going then it's fine. It varies though, sometimes it will run awesome, then all of the sudden poop out on me after a corner.

I'm not a mechanic, i also own a 97 nissan xe pick up. I was just really learning about my truck when i bought this car. (had the truck for 9 years), so you see... but i never did anything with it except normal maintenance.

Well, it's nice to meet you guys, and this is my formal hello.

If anyone has any suggestions for me, or has some free time to inquire about my problems, hit me up.

Thanks.

I'm kind of new to this, and can't seem to find it.

Could you post a link?

Sorry... :D

In terms of your transmission, it sounds like you have either a fluid problem (too little or too much) or just a bad modulator valve. Auto trannies depend upon its fluid (ATF) to shift gears, and the modulator valve (or computer depending on the model) is what tells the transmission what to do. Most Japanese cars have rough automatic trannies, since they tend to specialise in manual transmissions (much more popular abroad). I would just take it to a transmission shop and have then run a check on it; it could be nothing or it could become something very serious.

As for the tune up link, it's in the Table of Contents, which is linked in my signature.
