Since i was bored at work today I decided to quote myself on the gtr. Since I work for an insurance broker i tried different types of coverage and companies and this is the cheapest I found: for full coverage with 100k liability limits and 500 deductibles I would be looking at $4250.00 per year thats $527 down payment and $321.00 a month!!!! holy ****!!! but i guess if you could afford the GTR you can afford the insurance and yes I'm trying to up my post count

Haha, nice. Since you work for an insurance broker, what do you recommend for 240's that are modified (i.e. I am looking for full coverage & comprehensive up to an $XX,XXX amount)

It all depends on what state you live in but all companies normally offer special equipment coverage. That covers any aftermarket items you install on the car. Just make sure you save your receipts. You can also go with someone like Progressive and they can do stated amount value. That means you go get the car appraised and they will insure it for the amount of the appraisal and include all the aftermarket items. If you just insure the aftermarket cosmetics( rims, body kits etc.) thats usually not to expensive. Its usually anywhere between $15-$20 additional to your regular insurance payment, maybe even less. I have $3k special equipment coverage for some of the stuff on my charger and thats only went up like $7.

u can continue getting your post count up, haha.

Yea, I'm cali (forgot it's not in my profile anymore). I need to get my car appraised, I remember my insurance co telling me that. I don't want to show them the receipts of how much I paid for items, I want them to insure for how much it will cost to replace the item, :-D

My son just turned 16 and it was cheaper to put him on our policy for about $100 per month rather than his own policy which would have been $200/month for his 1999 Tacoma!

holy crap thats high!!!!! thats what I end up selling insurance for kids that get brand new cars and are 17-18yrs old!!!! The worst i have had to insure was someone with 2 DUI's and a bunch of driving on a suspended license and driving with no insurance. that person is paying about 323.00 a month for a 06 honda civic!!

I pay $99 for the 240 vert with no collision, and $400 every 6 months for the 87 rx7 turboII. When I had the srt4 I was paying $274 a month full cover. The rate on the srt kept going up in 1% increments cause kids kept crashing them. So I said, screw it, and sold it. Rates in Miami are super high.
