I have come to the conclusion that atleast one of my injectors has see better days. It started with a clicking niose and someone had told me it was the injector but I thought "Yeah right how could the injector make such a niose" Then my idel started to have a heartbeat and it was weird, now on a cold start i press the gas and the gas takes a few seconds to actualy go somewhere. I've tried injector cleaner and I believe i have the Early Style injectors since everything was original on the car except the stuff i changed.

Z1 sells refurb Injectors for 40 dollars each, Worth it? I can't even see where my injectors are, do i take the intake plenum off? Should I just convert the whole thing to New style? What's the benafits of New style vs Early Style?

I do believe it is the ethanol in the gas that destroys the "old style" injectors, apparently apparently the "new" style injectors are made so that ethanol doesnt kill them... im not 100% sure if someone could verify this but i do think i have read it on here before

is it worth it?? for "new" style injectors?? yeah...

"old" style?? meh if u want to replace them in a few years

i'd consider doing the re furbbed injectors only if you intend to ditch the car in 2-3 years or less. if your plans are longer term, chances are since one has gone, the other ones have been over worked and will soon fail one after the other. if the case is long term for the car, just go with all "new style" injectors. the old injectors had a few flaws, number one being that current is always running through them when a battery is hooked up. this is led to the injector coil wire prematurely shorting out, and 2, the addition of oxidizing additives to fuel lead to deterioration of the wire coating again leading to a short out of the coil wire. new style injectors do not have these problems, but you will need a fuel rail adapter to use the new style. not really a problem. as far as the plenum goes, some injectors do not require it to be pulled, while some require it to be pulled. on the one required to pull the plenum, you can actually grind down the plenum with a dremel tool so that the injector has enough room to be pulled out. this is a "hot" arguement, as many people consider the dremel method as a cheap shortcut. at the same time, the dremel method is in the nissan tsb, and is a published proceedure. so, your call. i bet if you didnt do the dremel and that injector failed again you would curse to no end, where if it was dremmeled it would be a 10 minute change.
