hey every one. Im new here. so if i did this wrong let me know.

Any 90s model nissan key will start my 240. Not unlock the doors, but will crank and run the engine. You can also remove the key while driving and the car will continue to drive normally.

Im wondering if anyone else has this issue. Can I fix this?

well if it bothers you that anyone can start your car go get a new set of locks and keys and ignition. the staying running thing is interesting. Was is the car an auto that was 5spd swapped?

well if yours is a slut then i guess that makes mine a 5 cent hooker. my s14 can be started with anything you can put in the ignition and turn it.

so about any key.

The cheap fix is a fuel kill switch hidden somewhere.

The better fix is replacing the problematic shizz.

My s13 does the same thing. I'll get around to replacing it eventually.

My 91 has the same problem. Some times if I hit some bumpy roads the keys just fall right out onto the floor.

However, on the S13 models (unsure about the S14) there is a button you are suppose to press when taking the keys out.. the key lock button, but of course the keys just come right out. So you can take the keys out before you should. Be aware of this because if you don't turn the keys all the way back and press the button, you can take the keys out, and then start your car with anything. You'll often here a little ping-pong warning as if you left your lights on if you do this, because your car, and slut like ignition still thinks you have a key in her.

thats a really good idea, what you could also do is get a negative ground cable cut of key, just wire it up to ur ground from the battery and when ur not driving ur 40 u can take the key out.

it basically cuts the ground in half.
