Ive been everywhere and i keep hearing the same thing! "My Stock spec v does the quarter mile in 15.3!" This seems to be the norm. My question is wat am i doin wrong cuz my spec v has headers, catback exhaust, cold air intake, and a throttle body spacer and it barely runs a 15.5. Does N E one have an idea wat im doin wrong? (or is everyone else just makin up numbers that seem 2 B f#&in with me rite now)

Things you gotta keep in mind is altitude and Humidity.

in places like colorado, a stock spec V does like 16.0in florida i think someone hit 14.9 stock.

it all depends on environment, weight, driver, i repeat, driver.

Driver, tires, and elevation all contribute heavily to your time.

the lower the car is the more downforce you have so a good set of coilovers, and tyres there are various brands that do soft compounds that hugely reduce wheel spin. you are talking about 0.2 of a second after all!

yeah but down force only really counts as to keep your tires planted to the ground, with a b15 sentra, it really isnt an issue because its front wheel drive.

this is the second thread in a row you mentioned suspension/drive train stuff, are you sales man?

Just messin with ya dude.

well the thing is with fwd is the drive shafts arent equal lengths and this will give you torque steer.I no everythin this is to know about suspension and transmission!!

i see, torque steer is definitely an issue with the Specs. but he can always add Motor mount inserts to help his launch times, i doesn't dissuade the torques steer but it will help prevent wheel hop.

the fact is though he is pissed that he cant hit stock 1/4 mile times bolted, things like that are usually driver skill or elevation related. Good suspension and aftermarket drive train stuff is always a good thing to add, but for this particular example i dont think that it is a factor because he is looking to hit stock times.

it could maybe just be the condition of the engine itself. engine parts are comstantly wearing away so as time goes buy stock times will be harder to keep up with.

its always a possiblity, but im willing to bet that if he takes his car to an area that is sealevel with little humidity he will come closer to stock times. im not sure at what elevation he is at but the higher you go, the more the car struggles to breath.

Also perhaps some of the mods are taking away from the others...Like cancelling them out.

I am willing to bet that it is the driver because i would say that is the case more times than not (no offence 1toomany).

My advice is to just go to the track and practice. I am willing to bet that the more you go out there the better times you will see.

What kind of 60 fts and 1/8th are you pulling?

For those wanting 2 kno the elevation, i live in las vegas! And temp prolly is a factor. As 4 my 60 ft and 1/8 times.

60: 2.51/8: 10.5

My pull tha 1/8 is slow. Im thinkin bout gettin some drag radials from nitto 2 put on my fronts. Cuz like i said i have 4 mods, plenty of torque, and i thought my streets were hookin up right but that mite b tha problem.
