YOu need to follow the self diagnosis instructions in the HA (Heater and Air Conditioner) section of the FSM. It's long and drawn out, with no tools required, sitting in the driver's seat, and you need to follow the steps by the letter. When you complete the test the error code (faulty heater door) will be displayed on your heater display.
The self diagnosis features throughout this car are what makes it so unique and is one of the contributors to the Q's original high sticker price. Read the HA chapter and take advantage of it.

they wanted to charge me 950.00 for diagnosticsQ45tech wrote:The replacement part is cheap why would the car manufacturer make money from that......................now if the dealers got together and went to Japan and bribed the HVAC engineers at the supplying company............................just the HVAC company trying to save a few pennies and Nissan gets the blame when they probably didn't even notice the change.
The only one to make is dealer labor and even labor is not profitable unless blended 60/40 with expensive parts.
We hate expensive labor only jobs at it knocks the bottom out of that techs day profitability.
For every hour we bill we need $90 in parts sales to keep the doors open!
Not some measely $40 part taking all day to replace!
i dont use pliers to turn on m heat i used them to open up the blend door so that i can put something in front of it and keep it open i still have automatic climate controle if i want to turn on my ac all i have to do is remoce the peice of coat hanger that is keeping the door openmaxnix wrote:Member's standards vary. - Q45tech
I don't think I would tolerate haveing to fiddle with pliers everytime I need to change the HVAC temperature. The autoclimate control is a sweet and safe feature when it comes to keeping the windows fog free. Always a problem in the Pacific NW when it's raining and about 55° F.
I know its a different model but I'll add to this list. I replaced the engine in a 1972 Chevy Stepvan (breadtruck). The manual stated that the engine came out from the bottom of the truck which would have required dropping the entire front crossmember and suspension and then getting this 6000 lb van high enough in my driveway to remove the motor.Q45tech wrote:I'll add to the pull wire to control the mix door to the list:1.cutting a hole in floor pan to reach the turbine sensor is still at the top of UNIQUE self repair list.
I'm waiting for the trained gerbal with miniscuba to clean the gas tank!
