Do you know how much will USAA payout if needed with full coverage ?Wildtraveler wrote:Not home yet. I am waiting for CBP to examin the car and stamp my papers. I'm hoping next week but I am being told they are minimal maned and there is no telling right now. I am now also trying to get an " in transient" tag to get it home with out issues. So I have to have the translated title and all that other important stuff to do that. Insurance was only $80 a month threw USAA full coverage w/$500 deductible. All in all not terribly frustrating but definitely not easy.

Now all I have to do is drive to savannah and get it. I have a rental car lined up for later tonight and I will be taking off first thing in the morning. When I get back all I have to do is have the car inspected (the amazing lady at the DMV already filled out the papers for that). I wish I had gotten that ladies name. She was a great help and very knowledgeable.
That's what happened in the case of my car. It was already on the water before all my paperwork was ready to go to be submitted to Customs & Border Protection when she arrived in Jacksonville port via Hoegh.Wildtraveler wrote:Some information for your minds. "If your car is shipping RORO you have until 24 hours before the vessel arrives in port for your broker to submit your ISF-10." From John S. James Co. This is one of the few brokers I felt actually knew what they were talking about while I was calling around in Savannah, GA. Hope this helps some one.
Oil in the cold side piping is completely normal. These cars get a ton of vapor blow-by being dumped into the intake. A catch can or tank of some sort is necessary if you don't want coated MAFs again.Wildtraveler wrote:I payed 13.8 for the car. It is condition wise great. Small things here and there as can be expected. I was wrong about the waste gate thing. The spring rate on these is pretty strong I was able to actuate them once I got all of the upper crap off. I did put new exhaust gaskets on the y-pipe. Im still here something from cat back. I cleaned both MAF because they were covered in oil. Speaking of oil. I have a puddle in both cold sides and all of the piping is covered. It has next to no shaft play. After reassembly I left the filter out and tried to see if I could hear the turbos and I herd nothing. All motor. It runs much better now that the MAF does not have oil all over them. I'm going to sleep on this and try again tomorrow. I need a boost gauge as well. I'm going to try to narrow one tomorrow as well.
Edit. I found the gauge. i have not seen it move past 0 the whole time hmm
Thanks I will have my buddy make one up for me.kabob wrote: Oil in the cold side piping is completely normal. These cars get a ton of vapor blow-by being dumped into the intake. A catch can or tank of some sort is necessary if you don't want coated MAFs again.
