Heh so my girlfriend and I both go to school up here in Boston, and live in the same town in Connecticut. She had at home this 92 Firebird (non-forumla, pretty much garbage) that she really liked....

Anyways, her sister just recently got her licence after failing her permit test once and her drivers test twice (one time she drove on the wrong side of the road). So my girl gets a call today, and unsuprisingly the firebird is totaled. Her sister cut someone off on the highway at like 75 or so... both people are fine, but the cars are beyond repair (I cant wait to see it - maybe I can post pics next week).

So obviously my girl is now gonna get a new car... whatcha think I should reccomend she gets? I donno if I really want her to get a 240 (its MY car), or really any fast car at all since she's kinda an overly agressive driver.... I donno though it'd be cool to have a girlfriend with a nice car as well. Price will probably be under 10 grand or so. Watcha guys think?

Hmm.. So you don't want to be showed up by your girl... What about a Nissan 200SX SE-R. 150hp and FWD, small, and pretty fun. I have a SE and it's pretty sick, no speed demon, but I love it :D

well of course I dont want to be shown up, but thats not gonna happen anyways with the KA-T.... heh heh... its honestly more like I dont want her behind the wheel of anything fast... she does stupid s*** ALL the time when she drives.... I dont drive with her anymore, its that bad. Guess it runs in the family.

Speaking of keeping it in the family though a nice (slower) nissan might be just the ticket (no pun intended I gues... speeding? tickets? har.... :( ) Any other ideas?

most likely (99.9999%) gonna be used considering the price, etc....

most of us agree its pretty stupid to buy a brand new car anyways when you can get so much better deals on old ones.

miata's are way too small, especially if she is a aggressive driver.

Get her a prelude with an F22

get her one of the older 2 door subaru imprezas. They are all wheel drive so it would be pretty safe and not too fast, plus they look pretty cool too

I say the Subaru impreza. like the 2.5 rs, still sporty, but not fast. could also get in 4dr, 2dr, or wagon. and you can pick them up pretty cheap

165 hp is more than our 240's from factory now if you dont go for the rs then youd be fine cause the normal odel i think is 140hp and hte older impreza from like 93 or so is 115hp. so go subaru.

F22=Accord motor = 92-96 Prelude S

Get her a Volvo 240, too slow to get into trouble and strong as hell if you do. I want to get one for my G/F but it's not "cute" so she won't have any of that.

Well, even though I want a 240 I'm still a little biased....how about a 2nd or 3rd Gen. Integra?
