1991 300zx twin turbo 5spd

my gears wouldnt go in for a while, once i got the gear in i drove it near my home but same problem occurred, i cant put it into 1st or any other gear, i had to push to car to park it, the car turns on fine, i put it in first gear once the car was turned off.the pedal felt llike there was dirt in my lines, it was hard to push the pedal down, then all of a sudden it would be smooth and the gears would engage, this happened over and over again

any help would be appreciated

I'd say flush the hydraulic system and double check master and slave. Once you've done that i would probably say pull trans and check it out from there.

I'm with Jables. It sounds like you have air in the system. Check the Master and slave cylinders. If you replace the slave and put fresh fluid in the system, the master cylinder may take a dump shortly after. The fresh fluid will seep past the seals in the master cylinder. I've replaced many brake master cylinders after replacing a caliper for this exact reason.

Flush the entire system and replace the master cylinder. This is probably where you are seeing problems more then likely.
