So i pulled my dash out to replace my mode door for my hvac, i was on a roll putting everything back together i thought everything was going smoothly but when i connected the battery to make sure everything still worked my check engine light and fuel light came on (like they normally do when you turn the key to the on position) but the weird thing is, those haven't worked since i put my sr in, that didn't bother me but i'm curious to know what i did to get those to work. My real problem was when i turned the headlights on my gauge cluster started flashing. and to add insult to injury my mode door motor isn't working now sorry for the long post but any insight would be helpful thanks guys (and gals)

Dude sucks to be us.

I replaced my brown dash with a black one.Since then..#1. My clock resets when I open a door#2. I blow my radio fuse if I leave it in#3. The dome light switch doesn't turn on the dome light but it does turn on the "door open" light on the cluster.

Anyways you have all the classic symptoms like I do of having a electrical short.

I've been to lazy, but you'll have to take your dash off again and find it.You've either pinched a wire and it's shorting to ground or you've knocked a ground connection loose.

Yeah totally.I just hate the idea I might spend all the time taking it apart and then not be able to find the short.

Hopefully though it'll be something obvious like a wire being pinched by the corner of the dash that will be easy to find.
