That's right, my babied G50 failed the CA smog test last Saturday. It has the NICO ECU stage 3 installed but I went ahead and have it smogged.

Old Test: The CO2, O2 and HC all passed

NO (PPM)Test RPM MAX AVE MEAS15 MPH 1829 679 150 1361 FAILED25MPH 1853 683 136 351

Last Sunday, I cleaned the MAF and TB again, put in a can of BG44K but I think the culprit is the modded ECU. Looking at the data the ECU signals the EGR and opens up at low RPM. Installed back my stock ECU.

New Test (today): With the stock ECU back installed NO (PPM) MAX AVE MEASTest RPM15MPH 2011 679 150 5 PASS125MPH 1944 683 136 4 PASS

Of course the stock ECU will only stay there for few days and back to my modded ECU and have fun again. After all, every two years for smog check.

Do you have a switchable NICO ECU or just a "single burn" version?

hey Percy-just a guess, but that NICO STGIII looks like it has the 'no egr' mode built in.

my stageIIs were set up to keep the EGR function and i have passed CA smog no problem.

Also be sure to be sure your car is fully warmed up. I failed two years ago due to being too cold. Drive at least 1/2 before testing.

Tom,

I think that's what happened too. I took it early for test but anyway it passed now.Let's all get together with Jay. Have you installed your 93 springs?
