Ok, so I went to my local dealer and got an up close look at these vehicles and have to say I am very impressed. The vehicle was very comfortable for me to sit in and very user friendly. It was nice to get a good look at the colors (online pictures do not really help much) and have narrowed it down to the Graphite Shadow or White. The White has a beautiful pearl to it that I really like, but (since I have the same paint on my altima) it's terrible to touch up). I prefer the wood accents over the aluminum, it really adds a refined touch to the interior. The backup camera is awesome and Nav seems to be pretty good as well, though the salesman didn't really know how to run it properly. The trunk seemed to be fairly close in size to my Altima so that should not be an issue. I really liked that there were vents for the rear seats, something I do not have in my Altima. I also really liked the feel of the steering wheel. Felt good in my hands..

Took it for a test drive and WOW, it's got some power. The car rides very nicely, doesn't float like a lincoln (which I don't like) and is not as harsh as my Altima, somewhere in between, but very nice..

I GOT A SPEEDING TICKET.. Yup, I punched it to for a few seconds to feel the power and got pulled over. 73 in a 50 and I didn't even know it! The car is very quiet and rides so nice I had no idea I was going that fast.. I explained to the Cop I was test driving and he still gave me the ticket (JERK).. This is the first ticket I have ever gotten in my entire life and it ruined the day for me. Needless to say, I was in no mood to discuss price or options.. But I did ask the salesman to look into pricing a 3M clear bra for me. I'll let you know what he comes back with..

So, I am looking at a G37 Sedan in either White or Graphite Shadow, with Graphite Interior, Premium Package and Nav, with Wood Accents. I wanted to see the Light up Sills, but totally forgot. Hoping I can get the car for under $37K..

Wait about a week and call the court clerk
Ask to make an appointment to speak to the prosecutor
Explain to the prosecutor that you were test driving a new vehicle and to downgrade the summons to something without points.
Dress and speak nice

Good luck

Talk to a couple of lawyers! Well worth the $$$

My daughter has gotten TWO now for over 15 over!!! :frown:
We did find that her odometer was off after the second one.
But, anyways, the lawyer had them reduced to improper equipment.

I grew up in Upstate NY and I seem to recall the laws were much tougher up there than they seem to be in Alabama. Based on the Alabama DMV web site, going 23 MPH over the speed limit is only a 2-point offense.. Seems rather light IMO. If I remember correctly, in NY for 20MPH over speed limit they revoked your license..

I am hoping to go to court, tell them this is the first ticket I have ever received and hoping to get it dropped.

After that, my test drive was kind of ruined so I will most likely go back this weekend with the wife and let her check it out as well. Funny thing is, coming from a Sallen with 480hp, I would have thought I was bound to get multiple tickets but I never even got pulled over.. Here I go and am looking to step up in my vehicle choice and right off the bat I get nailed.. is this a bad omen?

white with graphite interior (non-sport) and wood trim is pretty hard to come by unless you special order one. i searched high and low for one and was almost ready to settle for a blue slate because I had to have graphite interior. Luckily, at the last minute, I was able to find THE only 1 white with graphite interior non sport in the state of California, at the time. I'm glad I didn't settle. :woot:

You made the right choice. Given that this is the most expensive vehicle I have ever bought I am not about to settle either...

white with graphite in non sport is hard to find because it is new this year. Prior to 2010, white with graphite is only available in Sport. maybe it's easier now since dealers are aware of it, but when I bought my car in April, none of them seemed to have ordered any because they didn't know it was available back in January. I had multiple dealers told me that was not a color combo for non sport when I was able to build one on Infiniti site. So search the entire state for one...or neighboring states if you're willing to travel.

You should also get prices on a bra from independent contractors such as detailing shops. The quotes I got were one third of the dealer's price.

Search for posts about clear bras on this site and on a Porsche Cayman site http://www.planet-9.com.

The most important consideration is the skill of the installer. Look for one that tucks the edges under rather than one who just cuts them off. Try to inspect examples of their work.

Second most important is the material they use. 3M used to have a bad reputation for turning yellow in time. This is supposed to have been corrected.

Price is least important. An expensive good job is preferable to a cheap bad one.

I don't think clear bra's are worth it. You can tell that you have one. I'd rather just wax/polish the bumper and get it re-painted in a few years if needed.

Luckily I was able to see the only installers work this weekend. I took the wife down to look at the cars and they had just gotten a 2007 G35 in that had the bra installed by the local guy. It was a black vehicle and it looked TERRIBLE.. The quote I got back was $895 installed.. I really don't think I will be added this to my vehicle..

Keep looking. You should be able to get one for 1/4 to 1/3 of the dealer's price. On a dark colored car, you should have to look carefully to notice a clear bra. The giveaway will be the edge across the middle of the hood. However, it will not be prominent. If a clear bra looks bad on a dark colored car, it's because the installer is an incompetent clod.

Clear bra on my coupe was appx 900 installed. Nose, hood, fenders, mirrors. I saw another G37 the other weekend that had a clear bra installed and it was much smaller than mine as his only covered the hood and fenders appx 1/2 way up the headlights. Mine covers them at 4-6" past the end of the headlights. The other coupe was black and the bra was quite noticeable compared to my white coupe.
