I had my coupe broken into about a month ago on the driver's side. The window is not that much. Installed it was only $250 plus another $40 to retint. I used Safelite, which is a national company. They came to my home and fixed it in my garage, great job and very professional. I would highly recommend them.
My deductible was $500 (I have since lowered it to $250) so it did me no good to try and file a claim with my insurance company.
They did damage the door panel a bit where the window fell inside and gouged the panel in some places, but then when the tint guy was retinting he got the heat gun to close and melted part of the door panel down to the white foam layer so the tint place wound up buying me a whole new door panel ($499).
If they messed up your door panel that that may be enough to get you over the $500 mark if your deductible is $500, which would save you some money but not much. If it is just the window itself that was damaged and nothing else then I would say just pay it and move on.
BUT......$650 for a new window anywhere is highway robbery. I would tell whoever is charging that price to go F themselves.
I cannot stress enough (as I have recently learned from experience) do not fall into the comfort zone of leaving valuables in view in your car. With the economy the way it is, people i.e. criminals, losers, scum, rejects of society, etc. who are too lazy to work for an honest days pay will be looking for more and more stuff to steal that they can pawn for a fraction of its value. LOCK THINGS UP!!
Just my $0.02
