I just bought my new g35 almost two weeks ago. I loved it a lot for the first week but, after filling up the first tank of premium gas, I feel like my car is slower and heavier. It is harder to accerelate. What is going on?

Thank you in advanced for your inputs.

Is it brand spanking new? Are you driving with the VDC off? If it's brand new break her in a bit before hammering it. I'm at a loss, not sure why it would be slower. Do you mean sliggish?

Yeah, I could say it 's sluggish. I feel the car is heavier to move. I need to drepress the accelerator pedal harder to achieve the same speeds as the first week's. The mileage is 660 and I didn't know about the break-in until yesterday.

I didn't follow the break-in procedures a couple time such as,

Drove 50 miles at 80 Mph for almost 30 minutes.hard breaking once since there is an accident on a highway.

Did I screw her already?

Can someone tell me what I should expect about the engine performace during the break-in?

Thank you so much. This is my first time to buy a new car so I don't know anything. I appreciate your help.

Any car that has a full tank of gas will be sluggish. Hence the 160 to 170 extra pounds of fuel in the car. Try flooring it on a near empty tank

I think part of it is simply the "new" wearing off.

When I first bought mine, I was like "WOW - This thing HAULS!"

Now, I find myself thinking, "Damn - I need boost."

Do you guys think gas matters? I just called my dealer. They use Shell but I am using Chevron.

Not unless you got a bad tank...

Time to schedule a dealer service. Have them check it out - "Loss of power" is a common symptom of a lot of things.

I also hear like hum noises after I drove the car for about 10 seconds after it is started (low gear). I don't hear the noise after even after it stops waitng for the traffic light. Is that normal?

The sound you are hearing is probably the abs, it is normal. I also think you are just becoming more accustomed to the power therefore it feels slower. But as someone said, you add weight to any car and it becomes slower.

methinks you simply got a tankful of regular gas vs high octane. i can tell on my car when that happens...especially with top-end performance. doesn't ping or anything...but it certainly doens't have the ummmppphh it has with high octane.

My car is faster now. I don't know why. I feel it gets back to normal for a couple days and then it is getting heavier again today. Is that just my feeling? I don't think so.

I'd invest in a G-Tech Pro - cheap on ebay, and better than a butt-dyno.
