I've notice over the past couple of month that my G is losing it's UMPHH. It feels as though it has loss some power. Most noticeable is the loss of sound in the exhaust note. It doesn't roar like it use to. What could be the culprit of this issue? My car is an '06 with 37k miles on it. What would you guys suggest? Fuel service? Tune up?

check your spark plug gap. I know the platinum tip is supposed to last a long time, but I haven't seen any that really have kept performance as they get older.

have you reset your ECU? Try that first.

With the cold air that we are getting here in Utah my car feels like its supercharged.

I'm pretty new to this stuff so forgive my ignorance. What exactly is resetting the ECU for? Wouldn't resetting the ECU cause it to run rough?

The G35 ECU is an adaptive learning computer. Depending on your driving habits the ECU will adjust the tune accordingly. If you drive slow, the ECU will make your tune a very conservative one. If you drive aggressive it will be also.

To reset your ECU quickly: Take off the negative terminal on the battery and pump the brake 4-5 times. Put the Neg back on. Go drive 4-5 hard runs in a row and your car should respond much better.

Go do that, RIGHT NOW.

Are you sure that is the proper way to the a reset on the ECU? I thought this was the correct way:

"Operations Procedures"

1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.2a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).2b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking.4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking)5. Wait about 10 second.6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds.7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink).8. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone.If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU. "

Anyhow, that is a good suggestion tollboothwilley. I have been driving pretty conservatively for the past couple of months due to the increase in gas prices. How many times have you reset your ECU? The power loss and the loss of my exhaust note is something I really need to look in to.

This is my to do list as of now.1. Oil Change2. New air filter3. Fuel injection service (maybe)4. Do a ECU reset

Anything else to add to the list? I really want this car to be running like it was new again. I can't stand to see my baby run this poorly.

Both would work. TBW gave you the simple one. He is right tho. It is your driving. You did not loose any power it just adopted your granny driving. LOL

Hmm that could be it. I think I'm also going to get the car checked for air leaks as well. Hope everything works out.

Check with Infiniti before servicing your injectors. I was going to do mine in the Cobra I had and luckily read beforehand that they COULD NOT be serviced and if I had done them, I would have messed them up! I believe it was due to some special coating they had. Can't remember exactly, but just check before you do it.
