I know it is different looking, but I like it. I probably could have done a better job if my only tool wasn't a hand saw I still need to finish sanding it a little more and paint it. LMK what you think

Yeah, I was thinking about mabey using plexiglass instead. Oh well, if it breaks, I will just make another out of something stronger

It looks alot better on the car. The lip is only a few inches from the ground.

ehh, nice try but seriously...its wood. it'll probly break off from the wind at 35mph. theres a couple threads on here that explain a real lip that actually look good and legit...out of durable plastic.

Dude, the same thing was done in project car mag's sentra for super lap battle. It was made out of 3/8" plywood and held up at speeds way over 35mph

Wow that's the first thing i thought of when i saw it was wood, Top Gear. IMO you should take it off before it breaks or catches fire like in the TG episode...but hey, i dont even have a lip so i cant complain.

not that u didnt do a good job making it all fit and cut it out of .....plywood..... but u used WOOD!!! u could have at least got a sheet of metal and fabricated it and fitted it and spray painted it black. what are u trying to achieve with this??? besides hitting the ground and having that plank go inside ur engine bay and f*ck ur engine up. it wont give u grip or down force or more horse power. HAHAHAHA...........

come on man, ur car isnt made out of wood. are u?

you could just glass it and all the pissing and moaning tards would not have much to say..........

btw, wood is lighter than metal ....... Im shocked sometimes that my crappy bumper is still holding up my urathane lip...... I couldnt imagine putting too much steel on my front bumper.

Sorry to poke fun at the thread title... but the front lip is going to flame itself.

First thing I thought about when I saw it was that top gear too

OP is that Bolsa Wood? Looks thin. I think the wind velosity is going to crack it and make it fly off. Also rain and sun are going to make it warp.

People have made wood splitters before, but they usually glass them over then secure them with heavy duty brackets and hardware.

Let us know how this works out for you.

This is hilarious. I was with the guy who kept looking at the bumper to find the lip! And yes that's called a splitter.

I would also like to see pics ON the car, that's 2 inches off the ground. Do you track your car? What's the point of doing this?
