Sounds like a bearing or the lug nuts are not tight.

It sounds more like your tie rod if it was the bearing it would be making a squeeky whining sound plus there would only be a little play from you description it seems like there is alot if its the tie rod you should be able to see the end and where its moving around.

well. I had the driver side bearing go out and it actually didnt make any noises. The only indication it was shot was the fact it wobbled back and forth.I thing you should Jack that side up again and try rocking the wheel from the top in and out. If it moves then its the bearing. If you rock it again pusing in and out from half way up the wheel then I would thing its a tie rod issue.

If it is the wheel bearing you may just need the bearing depending on how long its been bad if its been like that for a while the bearing probably wore out the hub and both will need to be replaced.

it was the wheel bearing so we had to replace the whole knuckle along with tir rod ends and ball joint (there goes my summer savings good thing i don't have to pay for labor) the big question now is shall i sell the car asap or do the other side too?

also does any one knoe how much torque should be applies when tightning the nuts on the control arm?thanksD

Utah IS a pretty place. Used to ski Little Cottonwood Canyonwhen I was young-couldnt believe the 15$ ski pass when everybodyelse was charging $40 (1990). Had audits in Bountiful so the tripfrom TX was free

i torque my Nismo rims to 90lbs, but i think nissan calls for 87lbs per sq inch.Only do the other side if the bearing is bad also, no need for spending $ on parts that don't need replacing.
