Well, the front clip has set in my storage unit for YEARS. I finally brought it home last week. I knew the turbo was toast as I could grab the compressor wheel and giggle it around a lot. After removing the downpipe off the factory turbo, I stuck my fingers in the turbo to check the movement of the turbine. THERE WAS NOTHING THERE!!! LOL

The turbine was GONE. That would explain my smoking at idle and more pronounced smoking under throttle. It still smokes a little now, but I think that will clear up.

I bought a rebuilt non ball bearing t3/t4 turbo years ago for this project. It's a t4 to4b h-3 a/r .70 compressor and a t3 stage 3 a/r .48 hot side. It's sitting on a ssautochrome t3/t4 topmount manifold with the wastegate port blocked off. The turbo is setup for an external wastegate and has the t3 2.5" 4 bolt outlet going to a 3" v-band adapter. Since I have the turbo with an open exhaust (nothing there :D) and an open intake, I'm not worried about a wastegate yet.

For oiling I used the 1/8 bspt to 1/8 npt adapter going to a 2' section of 1/8" high pressure hose with a .063 restrictor on it.

My plan is to install this powerplant into my 1996 suzuki x-90

I'll post a video of the original turbo, lol, it's toast!

Cold start walk around. The oil pan might be a problem as it has the sump in the front...

Ok, so the front clip sat in the garage for a while

But, I have 2 new videos, and one has an extra Lol at the end!

I rigged an intake system to see if the turbo would boost with no load (sure does!), however, I ran out of hose clamps (see 2nd video, haha). I read about 6lbs max.

See the youtube videos! :D

The engine is out of the front clip on my cart, can't wait to start the project!!
