My friend said our M's are boring.

So my friend who owns a E550 told me my 07 M45 sport is boring. Told me I might as well bought a Buick.

I can't agree at all. I drove all the lexus line, Audi A6, E350 and those I'd have to say are mostly boring. The M45 sport w/ 19 inch wheels is not a boring car. I kind of wanted to punch him.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I haven't seen too many rappers with the E class. But i have seen a lot of the elderly driving the E550

MB E-series is a load of garbage aimed at getting the lower level luxury market.

Let's not start a MB bashing post. The problem is not that E classes are bad cars or Ms are boring, the problem is that your friend is rude and has no tact. What it comes down to is that they're both good cars, it just depends on your tastes. For someone to make a comment like that hints that there's a bit of jealousy at some level. The only people that I've heard talk smack about my car are people with self esteem problems who I could care less about.The only issue is "do you like your car?"

MB's - as fast as many of them are - are just not as involving (read FUN) to drive. Your car would leave an E550 for dead on a twisty road, and would leave a huge smile on your face in the process. By the same token an E550 would run away and hide from you in a drag race (at any speed) and would be a quieter and less involving highway mile eater.

It all depends on what you are after - both are not exactly pieces of %#@ and I would glady take either over many, many other cars.

I don't think any Auto Manufacturer makes a horrible car these days. There is no way they could afford to, and stay in business with today's competitive markets. Some are just built with better materials and more refined engineering than others. The price of a vehicle can sometimes justify what you are getting.The higher the quality the vehicle, the more it will cost. It usually comes down to how much of a car are you willing to afford.Anyways, I---->GOT OFF TOPIC! Basically, he just should have kept his comment to himself is all.We all have our own preferences, differences and opinions in vehicle satisfaction.The BOTTOM LINE: It's by far a "boring" car.

I think its more like "You always have that butterfly in your stomach waiting for something to stop working" as opposed to a reliable Japanese car that costs less because it doesn't have the pedigree.

Sometimes there are those certain opinions best kept to yourself. Some people could care less what others have to say, but there are some that could take it to heart and always think very differently of you.I'm sure we all have done it otherwise too.

I had a '00 E class before my M. I hate to say it but I did have that butterfly feeling when I would drive it. It had less than 40k miles on it and it would break down almost once a month and need to be towed to the dealer. Six times in 6 months! They replaced a bunch of parts and then finally the last time they couldn't find anything wrong. Because they didn't find anything wrong and had my car for almost 2 weeks, they wanted $500 for diagnostics! The aftermarket warranty I had (never again) refused to pay because no problems were found! When they told me that, I asked for a salesman to show me what they had on the lot which is how I got my M. I was sad to see it go as it was a beautifully elegant car but very happy to find the M! Almost 4 years later and the M has never, not once, ever broke down on me.

On the other hand, my sister and brother-in-law both have MBs and swear by them.
