ok before someone flames or something, this guy has check the distributor and all that, but he wants to know the problem with his 240sx, its a s14 motor. heres what he told me what was wrong with it!

"ok this is wat happen from beginning to end to now ok i went out bout 2 weeks ago and was playing around drifting a lil bit gettin sideways nuttin major running fine all night went to dads house cut it of had a lil party then got back in the car to go home started up fine running great well get home cut car off get up next morning it wont crank well i messed with the maf sensor finally fired up but acted like it had a 3k rpm rev limiter???? so new maf sensor now got it to crank again new plugs, plug wires,distributor cap,rotor button very good fire not the problem gas not the problem its dumping fuel in it and seriously looks like a disel when u give it gas and starts busting up and skipping adjust the distributor mad it a lil better just wont stay crunk and still very ruff rev thats all i kno dunno wat else to do i dont wanna get rid of it but if i cant figure it out i am"

I don't know too much about cars yet...but if moving the distributor helped it out a little bit then it sounds like it may need to be timed, or need a new timing chain altogether. I think that would cause the symptoms you described but not sure. He should probably have the timing checked imo.
