Actually, irrespective of the shiny surfaces, the electro-magnetic waves can still easily catch you. Even an all-black car can be easily picked up by... the issue isn't car color, but design. The stealth b0mber, for all of it's design hoopla, still can be detected by radar.BigWill wrote:On the other hand, removing some of the shiny areas on the front of the car reduces the ability of laser radar to acquire a lock!
The Radar Cross Section (RCS) of an object is a direct measure of its visibility to radar. The can be defined as the area of a fictitious perfect reflector of electromagnetic waves that would reflect the same amount of energy back to the transmitting/receiving radar antenna, as would the actual target. The RCS is dependent on the wavelength and….W661335PF wrote:

I think black cars are #2..... Silver/Grey cars are #1 becasue they are the color of the road!....W661335PF wrote:Not to be the spoiler here-- while the look is excellent, my position is one from safety. Black cars are often harder to see than brighter cars. To further blacken the G with this look is to reduce the likelihood of being seen even further. According to some insurance industry accident rates by car color, drivers of brown and black cars had the highest serious accident risk and the highest likelihood of sustaining serious injuries caused by auto accidents.
I always drive with my lights one. irrespective of the weather.

Good morning Doc!!!
Everything I have read about laser says that the cops always aim for the shiniest point on the vehicle... lots of chrome = lots of area to focus on. Without much chrome, they tend to point toward headlights and the like... but that's just non-technical internet reading.W661335PF wrote:
