so my freind thinks hes positive that a sr20det can be made legal in cali.he said if you go threw a whole bunch of paperwork that says theres that engine in it,it can be made legal.i kept telling him no but i just stopped and let him talk.

unless nissans made a special version of a 240 with a sr in it and u have one then no.....

I wish! I used to wonder the same thing. but it turns out every guy i know with an sr20, knows a guy who knows a guy that runs a smog shop. so theres ways to get around it.
Just to clarify a little more though, does anyone know if the shops that passes JDM SR's actually tests the car for smog. (im trying to figure out if having no cats, no egr, no carbon can, etc. will cause a problem.
