You misunderestimate me (that's a Bushism, btw), friend.

See, I don't perceive "mistreatment" - the government's goings-on has little bearing on my existence. What may frustrate others simply elicits rolled eyes and a head shake from me. As a "bootstrapper", it's in my nature to plan for the worst and take care of my own.

No frustration - See, I'll be smiling no matter who's in office, because I have the best life a guy can hope for.

I'm flattered by your recruitment efforts, but just because I'm a highly-regarded stud quarterback doesn't mean I want to bring my talents to a team of Nancies. :)

Hero worship. We need to work on that. Repeat after me.
"Think eagle, not turkey."

That mantra is ultra right wing my good man. It clearly doesn't become you. You've got too big of a heart to watch kids starve while the government spends billions, even trillions defending us from perceived threats.

Somehow I don't see you as a stand back and let the others do the work kind of guy. I suspect you're ready to jump in and right the wrongs of society and demonstrate your strong social consciousness. There is a liberal heart in you, but you keep denying it's existence. You may be a little raspy in presentation, but I'll bet you've tossed a few quarters in some homeless veteran's tin cup before.

My good man, I'm not recruiting you. You're developing these qualities on your own. I'm merely pointing out your progress in this regard. You should be proud.

What damage?

My 401k is up sharply since bush is gone and Osama is being eaten by the fishes.

Life is good

As for the republicans, nothing about jobs. All they talk about is abortion

My charity doesn't require or involve elected officials.
R/T Hemi wrote:I'll bet you've tossed a few quarters in some homeless veteran's tin cup before.
Nope. But I've ferried more than a few back and forth to appointments, the SSDI office, and Section 8 interviews. A few quarters in a cup is for people who need to do that to make themselves feel better or those who believe in karma - I don't.
R/T Hemi wrote:I suspect you're ready to jump in and right the wrongs of society and demonstrate your strong social consciousness.
Only on a micro level - I have little interest in the macro scene. My influence is best exerted within my locus of control, not on issues I have no realistic bearing on.

I already made it clear that I lean pretty liberal (socially). Fiscally and militarily, I probably look Reagan-ish.

If I take your copy of The Watchtower, will you get off my doorstep?

It's normal for a person in the transformation period to become confused over the extent of their liberal feelings. They often make statements that are self-contradictory. This happens all the time. It is typically short lived.

It's also not uncommon for a emerging liberal to see this as a religious awakening. Many others have reported a born again feeling. I suspect that's what you're doing. You're confusing your coming of age as a religious experience. That's a good sign my friend.

T, I am just going to bow out of the debate we started here, for one it distracts the thread, and 2 I just dont care to clarify my position as of right now. Perhaps I will start another thread next week on what I'm getting at, if Im up to it.

R/T, give it up, you wont be able to successfully troll AZ. If you are truly serious, my only response would be, "so how do magnets work?

All I see from you is another anti-Obama drive by post. Seriously. I'd love to hear your "opinion" so perhaps you should start a debate thread.

My resolve (and integrity) is far stronger than your desperate recruitment propaganda.

Anyhow, speaking of trivialities... Isaac, meeting the rich and famous is a letdown for the most part. I've had the unique occasion to meet several dozen "famous" folks (I'll be glad to explain in Carlisle), and most have been disappointing encounters. I'd much rather meet folks like you and Tariq.
HUGS WILL BE DISPENSED. also im staying at the park inn apparently. i have no idea what relation that is to you guys

im so glad that you are being so NOBLE as to put aside any distractions from this thread rather than defend your ludicrous slanderings of OUR president, the very same president who not 48 hours prior had announced the assassination of OBL. Apparently saving the economy, passing mortgage reform, passing healthcare, maintaining Gitmo, maintaining Military spending, maintaining Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, these acts arent sufficient to earn your praise. i guess they arent enough to overcome the fact that he was born black.

if you even have a coherent position that is based on facts and not GOP fed lies, then feel free to post it. somehow i dont think ill find much to agree with.

I feel like there should be a "Great interview. Aces!" at the end of that post.
