I replaced my broken fog light that I was talking about in this tread.

zerothread/233924

I got my new fog lamp from Joe. It was the fog light and not the bracket I had to replace. I ordered the bracket after someone said that it was the bracket. I have to return the part. Well, the problem I have now is that none of the fog lights work now. Before this happened, both lights worked. When I broke the one, and I disconnected it, the other one worked. I disconnected the new one to see if maybe the new one was shorting the other, but the other one wouldn't light. I checked the fuse and it was still good. This pisses me off because this should have been plug and play but no such luck. Is there anything else that I need to check?

If no power to either, I would suspect the relay first.

Where's that relay? Under the hood where the fuses are? How can I tell it's bad?

I don't know where it is, but you can measure the power at the fog light leads with a DMM when they are switched on.

Time to study the FSM wiring diagram and get a good guess as to it's location.

Well, wiring diagrams are like Chinese to me but...

Page EL-28 is the page in the FSM that has the wiring diagram for the fog lamps. Doesn't say where the relay is but page EL-256 shows a drawing of where it is. For future reference to others, It's near the in cabin fuse box. Probably in front of the door hinges where the dead pedal is. I'll see if I can get to it. I wish it would have been in an easier place in the engine bay. I'll give it a look this weekend.

I don't know what a DMM is. I'm assuming it's a meter of some sort. Don't have one and if I did, I wouldn't know how to use it. There's one thing I'm worried about. If there's some sort of short in the line, is it possible that that was what broke the relay? The fog light was off my car for like a week and I thing I drove it in the rain once or twice. I see with the wiring diagram that there's 2 more fuses associated with the fog lights. I have to check those too before I order a relay. I would think a fuse would go before a relay to protect it, but what do I know.

DMM= Digital Multi Meter= DVM= Digital Volt Meter . Less than $15 at Radio Shack or any electronics store.

The fog lamp relay is a blue relay very close to the fuse box under the steering wheel. It's interchangeable with any other blue relay in the car so you don't have to buy one just for testing purposes. See page EL-240 of the (94) FSM for the exact location.

You've got to start at the fog lamp connection and work your way back checking for 12 volts at each connector/fuse/relay. Not a fun job. Good luck.
