Hey guys how's it going. I've been a fan of this site for a while now always getting what information I needed from this site. Ive had 3 240's so far (one i got free) haha and I'm 18 now so I think I'm on a good path. All my 240's have been N/A so far but being 16-17 I thought N/A was good enouph. Now that im 18 and gained some more knowledge and experience N/A isnt cutting it, shyt's slow so i decided to do something about it. After picking up a new shell not to long ago in the worse condition ever for 300 bucks i started bringing it back to life. I did some body work and started adding what wasn't there, I put some kyb agx on there with some eiback springs, tein camper plates, rear camber kit, and front tie rods, welded up a diff and dropped a Dual Cam in there. To hold the Dual Cam in there i bought some solid motor mounts, BRM short shifter and a stage one clutch. I was satisfied enouph with this setup because the ride was smooth for once (I always did the dumb stuff and cut springs) to slam my car and it would just bounce around. (PIC)

Anyways thats enouph of that now off to the actual subject. I decided to turbo the KA in there whcih has 120,000 miles on it with compression of 180 across all 4. My girl friend, and my parents helped me fund this build which by the way is entirely ebay products. (I know what ebay brings but I am completely broke and I will take the risk) - Even though its ebay products I did not purchase the cheapest no name no feedback things on there and upon purchase if i was not satisfied with the craftsmanship I just simply sent it back. So after 4 Months of working and saving I ordered everything. Well just about everything.

T3/T4 .63AR 57Trim
Oil Lines
Oil Sandwich Plate
Top Mount Manifold with support bracket
38MM Wastegate
Emusa Intercooler Kit which came with a HKS replica BOV
Walbro 255
And some free SR injectors

I started working on the car today and her are the pics. (Everything bolts up perfectly and havent had an issue yet with anything.)

I would like you guys if you have any suggestions, questions, ideas, or any comments to say it, hopefully I can use it as a guide for this project thanks.

Yea I know I'm getting it tuned by Jason at Emance so I can just drop the ECU in and go. I know, I have read good and bad things but its a gamble, and this whole build is a gamble. I will keep posting what happen to what parts and what not though, if anything fail i will say what item failed.

Yeah, it is looking like a huge gamble, but looks good enough. I suggest buying some "lucky" dice for the mirror off ebay :chuckle:

Yea thanks, I plan on running 5-9lbs on that setup even though the computer was tuned for 10lbs max but I think that might be pushing it with the stuff that I'm running.

HAHA and about getting that free 240sx, I always seen it under a car cover sitting there for months on flat, so two years back on 4th of july I went over there when they were partying and drunk and asked to buy it, the guy said hold on then he came out signed the tittle in front of me and said take good care of it (True Story)

Yea i know its been a while but its an update that i said i would of done.... I've been driving the car everyday now for about two months from school to my apt and thats about 17 miles each way and ive racked up over 1500 miles... The KA is holding up great but one of parts that i bought didnt even hold up for one day. That part is the manifold. Do not ever buy a manifold from "Mirage performance" off ebay because the material is pure s***! driving the car for 15 mins the flange where the wastegate bolts onto the manifold broke and fell between the steering column and the steering rack, locking up my steering until i finally muscled it loose, basically when I was off the road in the grass already. Its a good thing oncoming traffic wasnt coming. (Now i know why you guys dont trust ebay parts, I dont blame you)... Well i complained to the company and sent them pics and offcourse they didnt reply to me. Well being that I'm cheap and couldnt afford to buy another manifold i just went over there crappy welds with a simple craftsman mig welder and added some support brackets and that did the job. Since then its been top notch holding up just fine.... Another thing that i had to go back in and take care of is the gasket that the wastegate came with. The gasket was a metal gasket but it burned out about 2 days ago so i had to use another gasket there but that wasnt a biggy. Today was a good day because I took the KA to the track to see how it stands up in the quarter mile. I got 4 runs in before i got eliminated from the tournament but my best time out of those 4 runs were 13.100 at 109.41mph with a R/T of .492. I was impressed. Even though i got a small trophie I went home smilling knowing i had a 13 seconds car. I ran the car down the track with free tires I got from sears auto dumpster so i was spinning through 1st and just a bit through second. Yea thats about it for the update. If you guys have any questions or comments please say/ask it. OOO and i forgot i picked up another KA24DE block and started to take it apart to get started on a full build. So that build will start soon.

Yea I will get to that, do you think that 90 elbow from the turbo would restrict any flow? Like would it be better if I was to fit a 45 on there?

I see a lot of mainfolds break where the wastegate goes on lowerend brands.

Nice job fixing the manifold, any pictures of the manifold after you welded it?
