Bought my first Z on Sunday...a 91 300ZX Twin Turbo in pearl white with 107,000 miles...unfortunately it is automatic though. Bought it from a used car dealer in NY. Cost me $7,000 ($6,200 for the car and $800 in fees).

Let's start with the cons- there's a slight crack in the bumper, all the wiper blades need to be replaced, it's missing the radio face, clock is not working, and it's missing the cowl seal on the passengers side (noticed after I took it home). Not really worried about any of these as they're pretty much an easy replacement. Another problem I noticed when I got home, was that it takes about 4 or 5 tries to start up when it's hot...cold start is great. This is what I'm worried about. Haven't checked for codes yet, but could this be a big problem? Any idea on what I'll be spending to fix this in the worst case scenario?

Now the pros- no rust, no leaks, clean carfax, 2 owner Cali car, paint is pretty decent, AC works, t tops don't leak (already been a few days of heavy rain here).

With all that being said, do you think $7,000 was a good price? How worried should I be about the starting issue?

i just bought a NA 1990 silver z for 6000 even. Mine only had 78k miles though. Yours had a lot of miles in it but because yours is a turbo i would say thats a pretty good price

That's not a bad price if the car is indeed healthy (beside your little hot start issue). As for your issue I'd recommend running through the FSM available in the stickies and troubleshooting because it could be a few issues and without more info I would be just shooting in the dark.
