Hello to All!This is my very first post on the NICO forums. For the past few days ive been reading these forums non-stop. I am trying my very best to obsorb as much information as i possibly can, for i will soon be joining the 240SX family. I was recently involved in a major car accident (drunk driver hit me doing 85mph when i was just starting to roll from a stop light) so i should be collecting on that in a little while. I should be getting about $20K for my car, then im gonna sell my car for about $9K, then im gonna collect on Pain and Suffering. So i will have lots of money to play with on my new car. Previously i have a 2001 Honda Civic (yea, a Honda Civic), with a rare motor swap...the RSX-S motor. I was about 1 in maybe 30 in the world right now with that swap. I checked that number with HASport, the people that sell the only mount kit for that swap. It was fun, but im ready to move on to RWD. I already have a huge shopping list of parts that i want to buy for my new toy. Including: Red Top SR20DET, S15 front conversion, C-West Kit all around, TEIN coilovers, Rims, Apex N1 exhaust, HKS BOV, Gauges, timers, Controlers, and so on. I know that stuff looks expensive, but i worked at a performance shop for a while, and now i get all aftermarket parts at cost to the shop (ie. HUGE discount). For instance, the S15 Headlights: Retail $950...my cost $700 shipped. My ultimate goal is to have a fast and fun show car. Ive been on lots of other major forums before, so i know all about the search button (thats a big problem with other forums, im not sure if it is here)...maybe someday i will be giving information to people, instead of just requesting it. Well, this has gotten to be a pretty big post, I imagine some of you are already sick of me :rolleyes Anyways, im looking forward to learning, and getting to know you guys better...talk to you later

i want a 92-93 240. That would be ideal...but i guess any of the S13's would do if they are in good condition (mainly no rust). Where in NorCal are you? Im in Santa Cruz

If you are doing an s15 conversion and sr20 swap you really don't need to worry about the year. any 89-93 will do the same as they are they same body (89-90 have pignose and SOHC engine, but you are changing them out). Just look for one in good shape.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, i can tell already that im gonna like it here. Driftaholic: thanks for the heads up on the other board...i will check it out.Mr1der: My other swap cost about $7K with motor, and thats with no labor charges cause i did the motor swap myself and with another friend.Rockenreno: Thanks for the heads up on which car to get. I would like to have ABS with the car, and i understand that having ABS is more rare in the earlier models, am i right about that? And also, having P/S, if i got a pre-1991 i heard i would need the P/S reseviour and hoses and stuff from a later model S13...maybe im wrong on that, but thats what i was told. I wanted to avoid all of that, thats why i said a 92-93.

Those were the early days of ABS, and the system is somewhat crude by todays standards. ABS sucks anyways. If you really want it, swap in a newer system.

Welcome to NICO, I've learned alot here and I'm sure you will too.
