My first oil change...

I recently bought a 07 G35 with 49k miles on it. Ive put 3k miles on it since Ive had it and I feel like its ready for its first oil change. Ive searched some threads on here about oil types, filters, weights,ect. It sounds like alot of you guys are using Mobil 1 synthetic with a Purilator filter. I only put about 300 miles on the car a month, so I plan on changing the oil every 3k/6 months. I live in Phoenix and its been about 114 degrees most days. Is 5-30w ok to use? How many quarts should i buy? What brand,synthetic? I would rather hear some imput from you guys rather than some kid at Napa or Checker. Any input on this topic is greatly appreiciated! Im a newby when it comes to these cars!

I live in NC, where it doesn't get to 114, so my info. might not apply to your situation as far as the oil goes. I use Mobil 1 syn 5w30 and change it every 3 to 3.5K miles.
As far as filters go, I ONLY use the taller OEM Nissan or M1 or NAPA's WIX filter in my cars.

Thx for the input. Ive heard that the Wix filters are a high quality filter. Ill probly go with Mobil 1 syn too.
