Hey guys,

I've made my appointment for this week, actually Nissan called me.

I've hit 4800 kms...this is my first new car ever, so I don't know about dealing with dealerships.

I have a question regarding getting serviced at the dealership.

Since I'm bringing it in for an oil change do I also get to bring up issues that I want checked to make sure is fine?

And will they check those issues...I have like a list of two to three other things I just want checked.

Is that cool or do you need to make another appointment.

thanks guys

I would call the dealership and tell the service advisor you have some issues that need addressing as well as an appointment for an oil change and you'd like to have both issues resolved at one visit, they can advise you on what to do.

Many of our dealerships here in the U.S. have quick oil change centers within the dealership, where they check basic things along with the oil change. If we have issues outside the basic service we have to have a seperate appointment.

Call the Service Manager and refer to the appointment date for the Oil Change and tell them there are some items that you would like them to check and the same time. List them so they will have them on file when you take the Rogue in for Service. Make sure you get any problems fixed while it is still under warranty regardless whether you go in for Service work or not.

That's good advice.

I was gonna roll into the service area and just tell them on the spot that while they have the car up for an oil change to check the brakes in the back.

You are better to tell him before because if they don't have time, you will need to come back again.

Just remember, whenever you have a problem with your Rogue, dont wait, have it checked. You paid for this service when you bought your Rogue and each time you take it in for a problem, it is documented and you hava record and should the problem happen again you have something to refer to.

At what mileage do they recommend doing the first oil change? I'm at 5600 km right now, and figure it's probably due soon (if not now). Nobody's called me, but I don't want to leave it too long.

on my window sticker it says 6000km, so now would be a good time... since the filter is probably full of metal particles and junk due to to breaking in of the engine
