And the madness begins....

Sold all my 2jz stuff and found a rare Soarer 5spd 1jzgte. This shifter means no shifter extension correct? It is also front sump saving me more headaches.

whats with the ultra rare soarer 1jz-gte? Those are actually very common engines if u know where to look. But well done on picking a good base to start with, should be a pretty clean swap if it matches the car.

What's the advantage of the 1jz over the 2jz, is it mostly the transmission?

Did you go with the tech2 swap kit? Or making your own mounts?

None, only cost. How ever the 1jz can handle almost the same amount of power as the 2jz. Im only aiming for around 550whp as the car is going to be used in the Silver State Classic Challenge. I want it to be controllable through the twisties and bumpy straights.

Still have a full set of defi's to install, an aem wideband and I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me get a haltech aimplus pro cluster. After allready tearing the car down to frame and installing a new steering rack, nismo brace and every single suspension arm available I've allready dumped 20k into just the shell with the paint and wheels and the whole chassis rewire job. Not to mention the custom stereo and other I interior stuff. I shoulda photographed all that as well but the reality was I just have to many projects all going on at once. The mod list on this build will be edited and added into the 1st post once I have the time to type it up. And better photos will be tAken once I get my slr back from my co-worker.

R154's are easy to find in canada. Im using one in my car. But as you were with the swap..

edit. im not sure on the length 2jz vs 1jz but why wouldnt you need the shifter extension? you need one for the 2j swap.

Here is a supra r154 and also many soarer r154's

And the soarer pictured above in my 1st post is the 2nd gen transmission with the new linkage.

Here is what you do to the average 1jz transmission to make it work in either a soarer or 240sx.

The older soarer transmission has a bent shifter making up for the length difference. How ever it does not mount well in a 240ss due to our transmission tunnel design.

2jz vs 1jz size difference does not matter as the engine sits in the same exact place. The only differences in the swaps physically is the transmission you choose to run. w58(3 types),r154(3 types) and the v160(1 type).

What a beautiful car!!!! Wait, why am i telling you this? You already know. This car isn't head turner status......... it's the type of car that makes you turn your eyes at first, then you turn your head a little more so your eyes can see more of the car. Simply sexy. Make sure to take lots and lots of pics and throw up some vids when it's done. Keeping my eyes on this.

wow, you are joking right? I told you the rears were blown, heck even the for sale thread said they were. You told me you installed them just for kicks and couldn't believe just how bad they were. Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll update as I go on from this point forward.
