The title basically says it. I have to put a new[er] motor in my '89 daily driver because I have spun a bearing among other problems. The motor has 475,000 kms on it..

Im droppin in my other motor, which has 99,000 kms on it. which is from a 1990.

I have done motor swaps before, but not on a injected and a nissan.

basically what is the easeist way to do this? take off the rad support? anything I should know, like secrets?

and also, where the f*ck are the motor hooks where i can hook a chain to to lift it out.

also the motor and transmission (auto) are both being changed.other then one being a 1990 and one a 1989, they are the exact same car.

check the pics on my facebook, the link is in my sig.

any comments, concerns, or ideas would be great.

you dont need to take out the radiator support just the radiator. you wouldnt want to cause its spot welded on the frame. make sure to unplug eveything that gets in the way hoses, wires, etc. there should be a turoral in this site. just find a longer bolt and bolt the chain through there. make sure the bolt is strong and a proper place. hope that helps

Sounds good to me, it should be pretty straight forward. Is there. Something that u know about that would make the swap hard? Like a extra set of vacuum lines or something? And I was thinkin of taking off the exucast monifold and stick a bolt in there. But not sure where to bolt to on the other side. It's kinda stupid really ... my chev has places to hook a chain.

But anyways I'm pulling the motor out Thursday after work and putting the other one in Friday after school. I'll let u guy know how it goes...

i find it easier to leave the harness on the engine and disconnect it from the ecu push the end though the firewall, i usually connect a chain or rope/seatbelt to the intake plenum and header, its pretty straight forward just make sure you disconnect the ac lines and heater lines and take ur time ive pulled a few out and can do it in about an hr or so with help from a friend

i started pulling out the motor today, i got the rad, shroud, and other useless junk off, ac lines, heater core, throttle cables, fan, and a bunch of sensers from i guess the top engine harness. theres just too much to do for one day.

tomarrow after school i plan to finish, ill let you know how it goes again, and if i run into any problems. thanks for your help.
