Surprisingly enough most build worthy first gen Z's are not that expensive but are rare to find.
What work did you have done to it?
well I was 15 when I got the Z, its a 71 240z. I bought it from the original owner, he had the stock L28 motor with dual webber top draft carbs, headers, 5-speed trans and that was about it. the timing chain tensioner blew on it about 3 months after I got it, so I got permission from my highschool autoshop teacher to bring it to school and tear it down there at the shop. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing lol, but slowly I learned, I got to learn how to rebuild carbs, completely tear down the engine, and put it all back together. unfortunately the motor had been seriously rigged by the previous owner and the carbs were a complete pain in the a** to syncronize. it took me about a year to get everything running right and the head gasket blew. by that time I was frustrated with the Z, about to graduate, and i had a job that required a dependable daily driver so I worked a deal out for the vert with my friend. theres actually alot of Z's out here in cali but its hard to find one with a solid body, the floor pans and engine bays are usually rusted through. I could kick myself for gettin frustrated with it, but I can live vicariously through my friend, he's got a 260 I help him with, rhd sr20det awesome project.
