Thanks, it's already been a good learning experience for me. Ordered these from summit for my car and Leon's hatch. Looking forward to the day she drives.if its a track car, i dont see why you couldnt just leave them open.MissMollyAnnax0 wrote:Most likely. We are just trying to figure out how we are going to make that work with tubbed wheel wells or if we will have to skip that part. We are ordering the tubs for Leon's car tonight (it comes with two tubs, cut each in half and you have enough to do both cars) and it just seems too convenient to do it now since the car is stripped down so much. Do you have a build thread btw? I like to see what everyone else is doing.
thanks for the info on the build threads. As far as the tubs go, we ordered them for Leon's street car and figured what the heck. May as well do mine with the left overs. Besides, we are on the fence for whether we will drive it on the road or not. You can get away with driving anything on the road in Floridadanshaz82 wrote: if its a track car, i dont see why you couldnt just leave them open.
as for build thread, i have one but its not worth reading. theres a pinned thread at the top or the forum thats got all the build threads. alot of sweet stuff in there
Yea are u gunna tube frame the front instead of using the stock core support that came with all the goodies? I've always wanted to do that but I don't know for sure if u can do that and the car still be DOT. Which means u might end up running into problems reg the car (unless u plan on making it a track car).......I think lol. Anyone got a solid answer? I'd sure like to know.Wish I could see the pics but they'r just not loading on my computer....waaack!danshaz82 wrote:looks like ya got a pretty solid start. going tube frame for the front?
We are 99.99% sure we are going to do the tube front. There's no way this car is going to pass DOT. Like there's no way you'd be able to drive this car in California. In Florida, when you register a car, no one even goes out to look at it. No one would know if it had a cage or tube front or anything. As far as I understand it, it's nearly impossible to get one of these on the road legally without doing something shady... but that doesn't mean we won't trykidslice wrote:Yea are u gunna tube frame the front instead of using the stock core support that came with all the goodies? Good things come to those who wait, something my dad tells me all the time. We did a lot of looking. I always had an ad up with my car for sale or trade, too. Then out of the blue the guy offered to trade me his shell for my car and we worked it out where I got his shell and motor lol Stock convertible shell for caged coupe shell, and ka24de auto for built sr20 5spd... this was a clear no brainer. Good luck, be patient and I'm sure something awesome will fall into your lap.catnipple wrote:Awesomethese are the kind of deals i always wish would come my way.
Can't wait to see it progress!!
