soo ive been saving up for months for my motor...6K to be exact...but my legs got cut off under me when my fambam needed help...financially that is....so my flow has dropped down to 3k

my question is...what would be best best bang for buck for the car as whole

current condition:CA18det : 50k milesGreddy FMICS14 sr hotpipe (which BTW is bumping my hood and is about to make a nice big hole in the pipe)Megan 3'' catbackHKS 3'' downpipeR32 VLSDAutometter mech boost gaugeBlitz ATT Nardi 360 deep corns14 Seat belts255 Walboro pumpRB performance 2 row RadiatorNew water pump new OEM timing beltNo name Bucket seat (only for track days

that said...what is ur opinions...i just want my baby to stay reliable especially since im hitting up the track in about 8 weeks... im thinking by around that time i should have atleast 4-4500 saved...

please shoot me some ideas...

yea do you wanna work on the chassis more, ooor you ready for some more power ?

what type of track days are you involved in, could narrow things down in terms of what could be done next to better the setup.

but in general, follow through with your dreams and build what you would like/need to see, ya know?

im planning to do drift and autox events...

power wise...right now..i htink maybe 250 would be suffice...but reliable 250

+1

Just make sure you get a good tune and it should be reliable

First person I've ever run into that knows the word. Where are you from? I never even ran into anyone who used it when I lived in west africa.

Except instead of money left over substitute "coilovers and welded diff". You can drift on an open diff but it sucks. Can also save some money by finding some DSM 450cc injectors, I don't think a T28 will outflow them.

No, but a GT28 variant such as a gt2871r or similar will.

my question with nistune is...what are my limits with it...

as far as coilovers...im looking for something thats reliable and made of steel, which i will be adding, but thats more chassis related, im looking for opinions more on the motor itself...

i was thinking oil cooler would definetly help out but i have questions on...well how...?

90% of 240 owners i know dont have coolers and none have CA so i get the same **** talk about it...

all i know is i havent had a problem wiht my motor since i got it a year ago and DD every day and they just have there stuff for track or show,

i want this motor to be as reliable as hell

chassis improvements will consist ofCA nismo strut bar (waiting and aching to be added)coiloversbrake conversion (if really needed)single piece driveshaftmotor/transmission mountsbushings2 way lsdmetal fuel lines

but thats mainly chassis, which i think i have an ok grasp on...i mainly need help and inluence from CA guys

Nistune is a daughterboard in the ecu that gives you full standalone capabilities. Real time tuning via laptop, interfaces with a number of widebands etc. Pretty much everything you need for $400.

then im pretty much sold on it...do they send the board ot me and get installed or do i have ot send mine for installation...

another question would be...does anyone know any shops in L.A. that rebuild CA's...

ive already done the water pump but i want to strengthen everything...

like i said i want to make it reliable>high HP...one of my main objectives is ROd bearings...and since i have to take apart so much to get to them might aswell do all the estra work i want...

There's absolutely no reason to rebuild your engine for the power levels you're looking for unless it's actually damaged

Check out nistune's website for details on installation etc.

but if i can afford to why not...mind you this is my DD and for track...i wana be able to drive it hard for a good day and still not worry about it having problems on the way home

the motor is 18+rears old...why not refresh some of it internally

i was thinking rod Bearings, and hot tank the head and block...i honestly wish i could take her apart to get a good visual of everything, but 2 jobs and work make it hard...

the only time i had a chance to take off a valve cover was during the timing belt and pump install in which the insternals looked semi dark...if i get a chance ill pull off the driver side VC so u guys can judge , i definetly need opinions from those who have been in the CA game longer...

Yeah man, I would definitely take the opportunity to rebuild the thing while you have money and its out of the car. New bearings, rings, freeze plugs, gaskets, oil pump, etc. couldn't possibly be a bad idea.
