Small Update;
I have everything done with the car, but kept having trouble out of injector #6 fueling way too much and flooding the engine. So as of now, I'm waiting on two injectors to come in( I bought 2 so I have a spare) As soon as the injector comes in, I'm gonna take it for a drive. It's taken me way longer than I expected it to, but that's how projects go.

^Here's the latest picture I have, I know the wrinkle red paint doesn't exactly match the hardpipes but it's the closest I could get and the colors actually look more alike in person.

No one has really posted in this besides me, I'd like some feedback. I wanna know what you guys think.

Hey man sorry for not keeping up on your build! I haven't posted since way back when you first made it lol

Congrats on doing so much work to it and actually finishing it!! Alot of people end up giving up especially when funds run out (ask me how I know :gapteeth: )

I actually did some of the same things on my 90 NA when I first got it... pulled the engine/trans together, 120k kit with ramey Z studs, pcv valves and hoses, etc. I also did an almost identical setup with the radiator, aftermarket TT aluminum one with the Z1 mounts and silicone hoses.

I'm digging the black wheels, they look so clean! lol my front ones are covered in brake dust at the moment. I've been too lazy to clean them off.. And I actually had to disassemble and rebuild all 4 of my calipers because they were frozen from sitting for so long (like 2 years or so near the ocean).

Anyway, you have new style injectors right? and did you ever change the fuel filter? you might have mentioned it but I missed it

Thanks man! Funds definitely ran short and I have more invested in it than what Dad paid for it.lol I came close to giving up on it, but i already had too much in it to turn back.

The wheels were my buddy's idea, He had about a quart of John Deere Blitz black left over from painting his 1/2 ton Cummins swap truck and let me have it. They turned out pretty sweet I think.

And yeah, I have the new style red top ovals. I bought a new OEM fuel filter. It's the injector b/c i could pull it out, tap around on it and after I put it back in it would run fine for about 10 seconds then die out. Plus it would pour gas out the exhaust and the only plug that would be wet was #6

Just stumbled across some photos I forgot to upload. These were took before leading up to moving my car to the shop and putting it together.

First thing, I had been helping my buddy Cole finish up his Cummins swapped 1/2 ton pickup. The last thing on the list was to paint it, took us roughly a week and a half to paint it. We had to get it out of the shop to get my car in.

^My parts car had these headers on it. I don't know the brand but they were ceramic coated. From years of sitting in a junkyard, they had some rust and the coating was coming off. I cleaned them up a little and wrapped them then sealed them with hi-temp silicone spray.

^A couple days before I moved the car, I painted from the firewall to crash-bar satin black. The factory red paint was just like the rest of the paint...shot.

Yeah it's a td
1997 12v manual fuel 215hp with ~$8500 of work done all by him except for machine work
Ported head, done by him
Valve seal retainers to keep them from lifting under boost
Southeast diesel built the pump, then Cole custom ground a fuel plate and fine tuned the pump
60mm Holset turbo off 2006 24v, Greddy ProFec II boost controller. The highest boost has got is 37.4psi

He's done so many mods he found on forums I can't remember them all, and he even went McGyver on a few things with success. It's ~375hp, double the tq. with 3.23 gearing in the axle and 275 wide tires, it'll spin the tires all the way through 3rd. It's really fast for what it is.

BIG update;

Injector came in the mail today, so I went to the shop and installed it. Car started and ran on all 6 :woot:

^Here it is, in dire need of a bath but I'm happy it's moving under it's own power

Got the cooling system burped and filled, then took her for a spin. I won't get on it much until the clutch break-in period is over, but I can tell a HUGE difference in power since the last time I drove the car. Only one mishap, the brand-new alternator/water pump belt broke on me. I was staying close to the shop just in case anything happened and it happened less than a 1/4 mile from the driveway. I was starting to gear down and the belt went to squealing, then it stopped. I noticed my water temp started rising, so i shut it off as I turned in the driveway and popped the hood when it came to a stop and seen this.

Also, my speedometer stopped working around the same time. It was working just minutes before the belt broke. Are these two related somehow? I'm getting a new belt tomorrow, that one has a 3 year warranty. But the speedometer has me stumped...
