Maybe some of you have had better experiences with them then me, but mine was not very pleasant. This post is both a vent and recollection of my experience with them.

I placed an order for the KA24DE manifold w/ 1.610 piping, Tial wastegate flange, and T3 Turbo flange. What I received was a KA24DE manifold w/ 1.610 piping, no wastegate flange, and a T4 turbo flange. Of course I called to rectify the discrepancy with the order.

First I spoke with some receptionist who gave me over to "Lance" with the turbo dept. At first I just questioned why I hadn't received the wastegate flange. He seemed incompetent as he asked my name about three times within 60 seconds "What was your name again?", each time repeating my name back to me as he looked for my order. Then he finally asked me for the invoice number and found it that way. :rolleyes. "Oh, well it looks like someone just forgot it." He said he would just get another one shipped out. No sorry for the inconvenience, nothing. Well whatever. I would have been fine until I looked at the radius plate and the turbo flange since I hadn't yet matched it up to my turbo yet. The radius plate sits inside the flange hole. So I made sure to ask an open ended question, "Is the flange supposed to sit on the inside of the flange or around the outside hole." After fumbling through words, outside if T3, inside if T4. I told him this was not my order, I ordered it for a T3. He says well the order says TK053, which admittely it does on the paypal. I backtracked my steps and redid the order as I was ordering it a week ago, I specifically remember clicking the TK030 T3 1.610 ID in the drop down. Is it my fault that I didn't check what the item number was after my order? Quite possibly, but I just expected some type of courteous customer service. Besides, he didn't know if the error was some backend error or what instead of just trying to put the blame all on me. At first Lance was like well I wont charge you for anything, and we'll get it shipped out. "Lance, I've already been charged for the wastegate flange." "Oh, well what I mean is we won't charge you shipping?" That was one of the kicker's that pissed me off. "You mean to tell me your not going to charge me shipping for something that should have been in the box the first time around." He started back peddling trying to defend his statement.

After enough banter, I just told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor or manager. He said there was no one higher although he didn't own the business. So I call back and get the receptionist again, I told her that I needed to get my wastegate shipped out and I would like to speak to Lance's manager. She's like okay, please hold. Now I was on hold for about 90 seconds after she was obviously talking to Lance. She's like "well ... I guess you'll be talking to me" ... Great. I was completely calm and rational when talking to her by the way. She's already on the defensive from speaking with Lance and attacking me at points that I hadn't even discussed with her. I saw that this wasn't going anywhere except to raise my blood pressure, so I just told them to ship me out my flange and call it a day.

I hope you take this into consideration when ordering from JGS. I know that many of us KA fellows don't have many cheap alternatives when it comes to manifolds. But just consider my experience and realize that it could be you. I tried to remain as neutral as possible, but since it is coming from me it obviously is going to be biased somewhat. But I didn't get any type of compensation on what I feel like was completely their ordering error, even at least on the wastegate flange which Lance admittely accepted as their fault, not even an apology. What defense do we really have against businesses except to inform ...?

Yeah I hate crappy customer service...maybe they're all still pissed off from getting robbed

I also had a bad experience with them ordering a T3 downpipe flange...after a week of not getting it I finally called them to find out that the item had been on BACKORDER when i ordered it, but no one bothered telling me this when I ordered it, nor did they bother telling me a week later...I guess they just assumed I didn't mind waiting a couple of extra weeks, which I did. So long story short, it took 3 weeks to get what should have taken no longer than a week.

i had a similar experience last month with them. i placed an order for an oil inlet flange for my buddy july 6th. once july14th came around i gave them a call. i talked to lance and he told me that they were out of them at the time and i should have gotten a refund, but now they have them. so i told him to jsut ship me out the flange. then near the end of the month i called back to check on it and once again it "slipped through the cracks" or something like that. so i got a refund and my buddy totaled his car so he didnt need it

It took over a month to get mine. They kept silent for 2 weeks, then after I sent them e-mail asking where the hell is my kit they finaly said it was on backorder. Three weeks later I received it.So it took 5 weeks instead of 1.

Hmm....I bought some 50lb injectors from them. Sent out M/O on a Mon. or Tues. and got them the following Monday so I have no complaint. But they are only 2 states away so...

In all honesty, I meant this post to hopefully harm their business from KA owners. As you can see, I've been a registered member since Dec 2002 and I don't post that often. I just read, soak up information, and post whenever I have legitimate questions - sometimes I chime in when I have very specific knowledge about something and can be helpful. I learned of JGS from this website and I told them of such (I didn't reference NICO directly). I let them know that my experience would be heard and in other words let them know that anyone I can turn away from them I would. In a time when everyone just about offers the same service and products for about the same price -- customer service is what wins consumers over. Whenever I am presented with horrible customer service - I give you a chance to make it right with me. If made right, that will actually make my business relationship with a company stronger then if I never even had a problem. But on the other side, in a case like this, I will disgrace your name in every possible way. So now I'm out whatever money to get a T3 Flange and possibly without a wastegate flange for an extended period of time since they probably won't ship it right away under the circumstances. And this is the last piece of my turbo kit that is needed before fitting and installation. So it is postponed by their error. Again, I completely understand the whole cost factor by other member since they are the lowest. But by the time I have it cut and welded -- the labor/cost of doing that I probably would have been better off with an aftermarket manifold for about the same price. (This SSA mani is going for around $300 or so right?) An aftermarket one would have looked better too. So again, please take into consideration my experience when before purchasing from JGS and that of the few others who posted in this thread.

I think that NICO may have been having some server maintenance issues to where your post inadvertenly got deleted. I know that it happened on another post titled "Is this the correct way to install and fmu?" or something. If you would, please repost (maybe just summarize if you don't feel like typing it all again) just so people can know what they are dealing with when they purchase from JGS.

1. orderd injectors assured they were new

2. received crappy old injectors

3. called to complain. said 'we dont take returns on USED items'....thats retarded cuz i was told they were new. Even BSed a while when i was ordering explaining I WOULD get used injectors, but i dont have time to get them sent off for cleaning.

4. Talked to manager, overheard salesperson saying 'I TOLD HIM THEY WERE USED!!!'.....long story short they wouldnt give me my money back, but offered credit, so I got a fuel rail that I didnt need. Its sitting in the closet..

Sounds like they what could have been a positive reflection on their company into something demeaning to them. Though when I ordered my manifold and wastegate flange and oil lines each time it only took about a week to get my parts.
