Post

So I recently purchased some parts from Rob (240sx_dad), and I would like to share my experience with you guys in hopes that you think twice before doing business with him...

I found this thread one day looking to source parts for my DOHC swap.zerothread?id=455747

After reading it and sending him an email, he responding with pricing including shipping, and in a timely manner. I was happy to to do business with him, and I figured I was in the clear as far as finishing this swap was concerned...

I sent him money on the 21st of last month, and got an email on the 22nd that the parts had been sent. I sent him an email the same morning asking about a tracking number and I got this response...

Quote »I can scan you a copy of the receipt, its basic usps shipping for all the items so there is no tracking #.[/quote]I replied that I would like an email or fax with the receipt so I can have that in case anything happens to the package in transit. That was the last I have heard from him. It has been 10 business days since he claimed to have sent this stuff and yet I have received nothing. I have emailed him on several occasions asking about my shipment, and telling him that I will be notifying PayPal if the situation is not resolved...nothing

After re-reading the thread about his "partout" I noticed that someone has also bought parts from him and received nothing. Have you gotten anything yet John (nolatypes)? If so let me know, I am hoping that something has happened so he has been unable to contact me, but I am a realist and figure I have taken for around $200 (which will probably be returned to me, but the point is it shouldn't have come to that in the first place)...

I urge all of you do steer clear of 240sx_dad, in hopes that this doesn't happen to you...

ThanksJoey

Copy that internet page before he goes and deletes it.

If you did bussiness through paypal file a claim.

If you have his address call local authorities, and pursue action if possible.

Sorry to hear.

I have already started the claim process (I have dealt with stuff like this before), and have saved the page, as well as all the emails received and sent...

I am just disappointed to see people still resort to this kind of thing. It shows a serious lack of integrity, and hurts his chances of selling things here. It's just not good business, and I hope everyone reads this and stays away from him.

Report it to them.... call them to report it you will have your money faster that way.

By they way, be weary of new user with gmail accounts.

Yeah I will have to call them...I really didn't think twice about the email. I have purchased quite a few parts over the internet using PayPal, and purchased things from people with gmail accounts with no issues...the post count I did see, and was a tad leery, but everything that led up to the transaction went extremely smoothy so I figured it was gonna be fine...however it wasn't

I am not that mad, I will get my money back and the car will will finally get done, just sucks having setbacks like this, and knowing that people are like this.

I do hope he finds this thread, and feels embarrassed (although he probably won't care). As a person who sells things on forums, I know I would be if I had a transaction go poorly, and had the buyer make thread unhappy about how things went. I guess that's just me though

lol, so it appears he has used a couple emails to receive payment from other forum members. I have called PayPal and was told my claim will be reviewed and that a resolution should be finished soon.

I will also be calling the local authorities to let them know that the person who screwed over John is also the same person who screwed me over...

I may even buy a plane ticket and go pay Mr. "Hayson" a visit with the money PayPal sends back to me

Good luck with your situation as im pretty sure we will both be ok... however, he needs to suffer the consequences, in full, from his actions... a**holes like this should be thrown in jail and i seriously hope he gets what he deserves. its too bad i live in new orleans or otherwise id pay him a nasty visit.

this sounds to much like another 1 of the deals like some had with that guy from south carolina. if this guy is from there i would seriously try to see if they are 1 in the same if so, that would just be a scam artist that has hit members here before. hate to hear about this happening, as it does make it hard to trust even guys that do business like a business man should. hope everything goes well for ya, but mods or whoever should check the registration for this guy and compare to that other guy. keep us posted

Gmail accounts are very easy and quick to create. So scammers can have multiple ones, like this douchebag does.

i thought paypal was useless unless he had money in his account? if he doesn't i think they just tell you sorry but they can't do anything. i would rather deal with the credit card company or the bank. if paypal can't get your money back then definitely alert your cc/bank.

people are kinda stupid, they dont understand if they scam people using paypal, they get there money back anyway.

I have had a run-in with a few of these myself with ebay and such.
