My experience at the stealership with an Altima

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was at the stealership to see the new Altima.

Before I continue, heres my backround in stick shift. I drove a 1990 5-speed for a summer a 1 1/2 years ago and haven't touched a stick shift since...So back to the stealership part...

I met with a sales person and told him I was interested blah, blah, bah. He had a fully loaded 3.5 coupe outside and offered me a test drive. I refussed. Why? Because I just didn't want to peel out of the lot and start to fry a brand new clutch...So the sales person gave me a ride.

The car was brand new with rapping everywhere including the steering wheel.

The car felt comfortable from the passenger seat, and the car had a good overall feel (just judging from what I felt as a passenger).

To sum up the guys ability to drive a stick shift car, lets just say that my grandmother drives a manuel better than him.

To pull out of the lot which was a slight hill he used the hand brake to help him get moving without stalling..Now I haven't used this trick since my first time I drove stick, and I was up aginst a chain link fence and didn't want to sacrafice the bumper or fence..

All in all, I wasn't able to feel what the car would feel like with a normal driver...

The sales person claimed that the coupe can beat a G35 coupe from a dig because it's lighter. I dought thats true..Any one know if this has any truth?

What are the differances between the two and four door? Performance..And interior.

Also, he tallied me up for a 3.5 four door on a 60 month finance with 2k down for a total of $450 a month. This was based on a $24k price tag. I'm sure if I sign a deal I can get just above MSRP or below. That would mean payments of $400 a month.

Any imput welcome.

I would like to buy the car, but I think I'm going to wait for performance parts to come out.
