My EX35 came with Pirelli P6 allroads, can I swap them out,

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My M35 that was just wrecked had Hankook 245/45/18xl tires which are highly rated and I have two brand new backups and two good
tires on the wrecked car.
here's where it gets interesting, my EX35 came with the Pirelli P6 allroads that got rotten reviews compared to the hankook tires that I love.
the ties on my EX35 are 225/55/18 and I'm not seeing a reason technically why my Hankook tires wouldn't fit on the EX35.
For people that are knowledgeable about swapping out tires, both wheels are 18", but technically it seems like my hankook tires are a bit
wider but somewhat less tall from outside of the wheel to the top of the tire, so would the 245 vs 225 be a problem to fit on my stock wheels?
I bought the Hankooks for backups to my revered tires on the car, I love the tracking they did so please help me with an educated opinion,
someone?????????????

thanks

I appreciated the detailed info, much more than I expected and it looks like the critical factor for the stock wheel is the rim width range which maxes at 9 inches
and my current 245x45x18 is 9.64 inches. The only thing I could do If I'm not happy with the Perelli's is to get an entire new set?
any kind of consensus as to what are the best tires for the ex35 for handling and wear?

The Michelin Primacy Mxv4's are simply amazing.

The ride quality is stupendous.
